WE DID IT! Thank you to everyone who joined us as a baker backer! We are overjoyed and ready to bring Mike & Cookies to the WORLD!

Mike & Cookies is a story that starts with a dream. Ever since I was a little kid, my mom urged my dad (Mike) to start a cookie business close to home in New Haven, CT. I fondly remember the conversations that featured awesome ideas, fun cookie names, and a life filled with cookies and happiness. So one day, I decided to start it. Why not? Why not create a cookie business? I saw my dad's Facebook status that read "cookies cookies cookies" and I immediately knew the name for our business...Mike & Cookies.

What I did not know, however, was the amazing journey I was about to embark on. While an undergraduate at the University of Maryland, I worked weekly with the on-campus Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship, and received invaluable feedback on business growth, cost analysis, and scalability - concepts foreign to me as a Government & Politics Major. In 2009 I pitched their bi-semesterly business competition and lost. The judges said that my idea was "romantic" but was not feasible or a viable business model. So I decided to create a feasible/viable "romantic" business, something I now call a blissness. A year later, I pitched the same competition and won the grand prize for my business pitch for a fresh baked cookie truck in Washington DC. Months later I graduated the University of Maryland and was entirely focused on launching this Mike & Cookies cookie truck. I soon realized that to get to my cookie truck dream, I needed to take several small steps.

One of these steps was looking to the place that had become my new home - the University of Maryland. After providing cookies at several events throughout the 2011-2012 school year, I approached University of Maryland Dining Services in May of 2012 and pitched the idea of a partnership with Mike & Cookies for retail sale in their cafés and convenience stores. 3 months and several thousand cookies later, the partnership is thriving, and I am happy to share that we have set up a contract for the 2012-2012 school year to provide Mike & Cookies in 12 of the on-campus shops! 

SO, here we are. Two years later, and the cookie dream is coming true. 12 locations, 3 employees, and thousands of cookies to bake! With all of this growth, I need your help. I will not be able to deliver thousands of cookies out of my 1994 Volvo, and a delivery truck will allow us to grow to other locations and expand the blissness!
