About this project
Set to be shot in February 2012, OUT is a short film collaboration to be directed by Michael Willer, starring Tyler Langdon and Brett Maier, and shot in the Hollywood, Los Angeles area. The goal is to submit this short to Outfest 2012, an LGBT film festival in Los Angeles.
OUT is a drama about a man's journey as he is forced to face his sexuality and reconcile years of social conditioning against being gay. That man, Chance, is forced to confront his gay roommate, Eric, and discover what it means to truly accept himself for who he is.
Michael Willer (Director) moved to Los Angeles a mere 5 months ago and is already working toward his dream of becoming a feature film director. OUT represents his first official foray into the Hollywood independent film arena and he is incredibly excited to work with professionals in the industry, as well as other newcomers like himself.
Tyler Langdon (Chance - Lead) has lived in Los Angeles for 3 years now and is pursuing a career as an actor to much success. He recently booked a role in Steve Carell's next movie, Burt Wonderstone, playing a young version of the title character. He also won the 2010 Hollywood Discovery Award for up-and-coming talent, and has been in numerous independent short and feature films.

Brett Maier (Eric - Lead) is normally a producer on the other side of the camera, but auditioned for OUT because it resonated with him and reminds him of his own script about being gay. He's been acting since age 12 and manages a production company in Santa Monica.
Alan Dean (Director of Photography) is a graduate from Dodge College of Film and Media Arts at Chapman University. He received his BFA in Film Production with an emphasis on cinematography and is currently a freelance cinematographer based in the Los Angeles area.

You will ONLY be charged if we meet our budget, and only after the campaign is ended. Pledging $50 will only result in you giving $50 after January 14th.

I am a filmmaker, currently working on a project entitled "Out", to be submitted to Outfest 2012.
I've been making movies since I was 12 years old. I've known for years now that being a director is my greatest passion and living in Los Angeles is the perfect place to explore that. I've lived here for less than a year and I'm already working on several projects, the greatest of which is "Out".
