Update #10: Show is nearing, rewards are too.
Update #9: More new work, and upcoming gallery show
The link has several more pieces from the series. It's getting close to the end- it's hard to find a stopping point, as I keep being inspired to make more scenes as I continue to shoot.
A gallery show has been scheduled for November 2011 at the Paper Crane Gallery in Bloomington, Indiana. More information to come soon.
The upcoming weeks should see the end of the creation period for the project, as I touch up the last of the scenes. As usual, if you haven't received your reward print and have a specific image in mind, please let me know.
Thanks again,
Mia
Update #8: More new images for the project!
Hello everyone,
If you follow the link, you can see another ten finished pieces for the Bit Parts project. I'm currently putting together ten more, and then the project may be complete!
If you are interested in your reward print being one of the ones already on the site, please send me a message that lets me know which photos you are interested in, and I will get them out to you. For those of you waiting to see all of them before you make your selections- that works fine for me, as well.
Thanks again, and enjoy the photos!
Mia
Update #7: New Website
Hello backers!
I've redone my website, and it includes the new Bit Parts pieces that I've made for the Kickstarter project. I've still got a few more in the works, but if your reward includes a print from the series and you see one on the site that you would like as your print, send me a message and I will use that image as your reward photograph. If you want to wait til the whole series is done, that's fine, too.
For those of you who received quail napkin sets as your reward- hope you are enjoying them!
The new website and complete Bit Parts:
Thanks for everything and I'll update when the final batch of images are done!
Mia
Update #6: More new work!
The project is coming along, and I have posted some new work on my blog:
I am currently shooting a lot of weddings this summer, as well as managing a new baby- it's been exhausting but fun. I enjoy working on the Kickstarter as a way to escape from the hectic summer.
Some of you who have non-photo related rewards have already gotten them or should expect them very soon. For those of you with photo rewards, once the whole body of work is done and ready, I'll send you an email asking you to pick your photo.
I still have about 15-20 new scenes I am currently getting ready to photograph. Once I have those finished, I will narrow the pieces down for the final body of work. I'll keep you posted.
Photo title: Although they passed it each day, this was the first time they had noticed the grave markers.
Update #5: New work posted
Hi everyone,
The project is well underway. During the baby's naps I have made some new work.
Please take a look, more will be posted shortly:

Update #4: We did it!
Update #3: 11 days to go!
We are getting close to reaching the end of project funding!
With only 11 days left to go in the pledging process, I wanted to touch base and say thank you to all of you who have become backers of this project.
We are now in the final countdown, so please tell your friends about this project!
I am excited to be able to work on this series again, and cannot thank you enough (except by giving you all rewards, which will be on their way soon.)
Thanks again,
Mia
Update #2: We've reached the project goal!
Hello everyone,
Just a quick update to say
THANK YOU
THANK YOU
THANK YOU
to everyone who pledged and helped make sure this project got funded. With all or nothing funding such as Kickstarter, it can be a bit nerve-wracking until the goal is reached. Now that we have reached it, any additional pledges are just more help for Bit Parts. We've made the goal with 61 more days to go!
Now I need to get started on some of these rewards, so that they can be ready by the funding deadline, now that we know that Bit Parts is getting the funding it needs.
Again, I really appreciate your support.
You'll be hearing from me again soon,
Mia
Update #1: First Update and New Reward
I'd like to say thank you to all of you who have already pledged to this project. It's been wonderful to see the support it has gotten already.
I also added a new reward, your image incorporated into a 'Bit Parts' piece. If the project is successfully financed, the backer can send me an image (or several) of themselves and I will incorporate their likeness into the piece.
I'm excited to see the project get closer to funding!
Thanks again
Mia
