We are Mercies, a band from a small town in Connecticut about 75 miles from Boston, MA. Over the last few years we have written and recorded two records, played tons of shows up and down the east coast and midwest, and restored and transformed a barn behind our house into our studio and rehearsal space. So far, we have been able to fund everything ourselves. Whether it's been purchasing studio equipment, pressing CD's, printing t-shirts, or getting a tour van, we've done it all on our own dime. We all have held part-time or full-time jobs and have literally put every penny back into Mercies. We are an unsigned band that exhibits the true meaning of DIY. With that being said, we feel we have reached a point in our musical careers where if we want to continue to progress and move forward as a band, we need a little help. By backing this project you will help us complete our first full US tour and contribute to the release of an EP that will be pressed on 7" vinyl.
If you are wondering where exactly your generously donated money is going, we will quickly break it down for you. The main expense for all touring bands is gas, so a good portion of our funds will go towards that. We are now touring with 5 people and a significant amount of gear, so we will need to purchase a trailer. As far as the 7" goes, between recording, mixing, mastering, and the actual pressing of the vinyl, the cost of production adds up quickly.
Creating and playing music is not only our passion but our livelihood and we will continue to do it as long as we physically can. With your support you will not only keep our art alive but also help continue to make our vision a reality.
