First off, would like to apologize for the sparseness of updates lately.

But allow me to disperse doubts first; Yes, we are on time for delivery for the beta state. We're taking the last 2 weeks of this month to polish off the engine, and presenting it live at PAX Dev.

We don't want to spoil the show, so we might as well put on a big one, instead of getting distracted from our intensive workload.

Yes, there are bigger shows on the horizon, namely Steam Greenlight, and the IGF.  And yes, we are promising you more visibility into the project at the end of the month. 

and now to the big question; hardware.

For PC, we are rigging the engine to have a minimum of 2 processor cores.  Would this be a problem for *any of our patrons*?  If so, please contact slade@mercenary-games.com, so we can add you to a specialized build geared for a single core processor.

Bootcamp

There's no comforting way to put this, nor will we try to sugar coat the inevitable.

This is *not* going to be an easy game.

This ain't no crunch and grind, there ain't no "build orders".

We do not expect you to survive, much?

You will be surrounded, and outnumbered.

And, you'll have to defend planets, at the *smallest* scale battles.

There's a reason we give you beams that cross over between units. This arsenal is the *bare minimum* you will need to fight.

Expect us.  Uploading the stable build to Desura soon :)

Just a small update for the Penguins.

We've managed to complete our entry points into Linux 32 and 64 bit!

Which leaves us with Mac OSX as the last platform we need to invade on desktop PC...

We will include you as an NPC character in our game, and design an entire mission around a character you create. (We still have final say in the characters fit into the story.) We will help you develop this character. This character will be part of the Union Council, the governing body of our game universe, and will be given a unique story arc. We will design a star system, a character comic sketch, with a set of missions and areas, just for you. In addition, we will be porting the game to iOS. We will give you the IPad3 tablet (Wifi only, your choice of white or black) where we develop the game engine port, as well as a MULTIPASS for 7 friends of your choosing. You will also receive special modifications to the game engine, which are directly bound to this IPad3; these modifications include "OVERKILL MODE", and specialized fleet abilities that are directly bound to this specific IPad3.
