We operate best together. Working from this premise, this project seeks to answer the question:
How is global social change made where media, technology and creative people meet?
Through blog posts, photos and web video accessible at http://travel.memeshift.com, this travel abroad project will document the stories of creative communities found at local galleries, meetups, barcamps, fabrication labs, and innovation competitions. In the spirit of global citizenship and good will, the successes, challenges and ‘best practices’ of these communities will also be 'shared back' across social networks and other relevant online communities.
I want to learn and ’share back’ as much as possible so that other groups doing similar things can do it together.
What the Money Will Go Towards
While I've already got my flight from San Francisco to Dublin, Ireland covered, there's still the rest of the trip and the return. I'll basically need to cover transportation, food and lodging. Beyond that, I'll need a few things to ensure optimum safety and success:
+ transportation between countries
+ travel insurance
+ a travel backpack
+ a sleeping bag
+ vitamins
