About this project
A little background
Over the past 10 years I have had the good fortune to curate, co-curate and assist in the mounting of over 75 art exhibitions. About a quarter of these exhibitions dealt solely with the medium of photography. During the time that I spent working on these exhibits I befriended, assisted and picked the brains of photographers whose work I admired. It is easy to say that photography (happily) consumed my life. In the Spring of 2011, I decided that I wanted a new challenge. Armed with my prior experience as Director of Carrie Haddad Photographs, I set out to pursue a vision that would be wholly my own. At the time, I wasn't exactly sure what that vision would entail, but slowly, the idea for Small Batch Editions evolved...
What is Small Batch Editions?
I once read somewhere that creativity is your world view filtered through your talent. For me, it's finding and sharing photography and photographers that excite me. That is the sole reason behind why I built smallbatcheditions.com and why I work hard every day on this project. I find an image, a series that gets my heart pumping and I move on it, and that momentum carries me from morning to night. I get to be a part of something and put my mark on it—I get to say, I believe in this.
Small Batch Editions is dedicated to bringing together a carefully curated selection of photographs from around the world, and making them available for a wider audience. To this end, we proudly publish affordably-priced limited edition prints, working closely alongside each artist to ensure the highest standards of quality.
Small Batch supports photographers - both emerging and established - and helps to provide a funding platform for new work, while also supplying opportunities for them to share their projects with a community of passionate image lovers.
For the website's launch, I am very honored to be working with the following photographers:

How can you help?
Small Batch Editions' roots are firmly in place and now I'm looking to construct a solid core from which my values of creativity, accessibility and excellence can continue to grow and connect with like minds. I need your support in order to facilitate this reality. Everything thus far has been accomplished on a shoestring budget. Your contribution to this Kickstarter campaign will raise the funds necessary to produce the first ten Small Batch editions.
$3,500 would be a great goal to achieve, but it is really just the beginning. I want Small Batch to grow to be a vital business - funds exceeding the target will help take Small Batch from an idea I am passionate about to a real and sustained place for the appreciation and patronage of photographic works.
I have a lot of ideas and exciting plans for Small Batch’s future! Some of the items on my wish list are:
- the lease of an office/gallery space
- photographer video profiles & interviews
- exhibitions, talks & other events

A copy of Helen Gee's book, Limelight, with a personal inscription / note of encouragement from me. Gee was an instrumental figure in the NYC gallery scene in the 1950's - at the time, she had the only photography gallery in the country. The photographer Gary Schneider - a close friend of Helen's - gave me a copy of the book a few years ago after seeing how passionate I was about photography and about the gallery I was running at the time. Perfect for anyone who loves photography and wants to be inspired by a wonderful memoir about perseverance and vision.
