Update #3: Book Launch Party & New Backers
What a week it has been!!
Wednesday, December 1st was my much-anticipated book launch party, and I'm excited to say that people showed up! Despite getting about 10 texts/emails 20 minutes before the party started stating that, for one reason or another, attendees couldn't make it, and panic & fear that it would just be me, Jock, my glass of wine & a pile of books at the Allerton Hotel, it was a true kick off to the publication of my first novel. We had about 40 people attend, 22 books were sold & I had a blast.
For the party, I printed out Moo.com cards (that I won for free from Klout.com) with three questions on each card & passed them out to the attendees to strike up a conversation with their fellow attendees...it seemed to do the trick.
There was a photographer and a live camera during the launch, so as soon as I hear back from that team about the status of those photos, I will post here.
During the party, I forgot to mention the Kickstarter campaign, but made up for it with a follow up Thank You email the next day. Last night, I also sent out an email campaign & am honored by the people who have replied & contributed.
Before the email campaign, I was 20% funded, and now to date, I am 30% funded. Getting close, and only 19 days left!! $1,333 means that I have a new book cover, a reformatted book & am half way to getting a book trailer. BUT, it's all or nothing, so I must get completely funded to get anything.
