I want to make cool comics and I need your help! Donate and get some of those cool comics.
Hi there, internet! My name is Max Huffman, and I do a webcomic called Mocktopus. Recently, the laptop I use to produce Mocktopus, as well as other art stuff (like my posters for War Rocket Ajax) and, you know, general day-to-day internet things, died.
There is nothing I enjoy doing, am more serious about doing, or want to continue doing more than making comics. But right now, I lack the means to make comics, and the funds for a new laptop to fix that. And that's why I'm asking for your help. I'm not asking for charity, though-- at every level of donation, you can receive kickin' rad rewards.
What kind of rewards, you ask? HOW ABOUT CUSTOM-ARTY KIND OF REWARDS?
- For just five American dollars, you can get a signed, one-of-a-kind sketch, custom-made for you. The sky's the limit-- if you want Batman playing ping-pong, you can have that. YOU CAN HAVE THAT SO HARD.
- For twenty-five dollars and up, I will draw and send you a signed, three-panel comic strip based on a suggestion from you. The suggestion can be something as broad as "wind" or as specific as "bears writing Livejournals"-- it's entirely up to you. CAN YOU FEEL THAT POWER?
- For a donation of fifty dollars and up, that three-panel comic strip can be in vibrant, living color! YOUR EYES WON'T BELIEVE YOUR EYES!
- And for a donation of one hundred dollars or more, I will round up some of my improv buddies and make an animated short, based on a suggestion from you! ANIMATION! THE ILLUSION OF MOTION CREATED BY THE RAPID SUCCESSION OF FRAMES! IT'S LIKE A HUGE LONG COMIC WITH SOUNDS!
So that's the deal! If you want to see Mocktopus go on, or get a rad sketch or comic or cartoon, or just the feeling of satisfaction from helping out a young budding comics creator, please, donate. Doing comics is what I love and I want to continue doing them for a long long time, but the only way I can is with your help.
