Update #10: Rewards on the Way
Hi everybody! We’ve been quiet around these parts for a little while. Here’s an update on what we’ve been up to. (And it may be one of the last for this project!)
- We had our release party two weeks ago today, and it was wonderful! You can see photos, more photos, and even more photos from our good friend Aaron Yoshino.
- We’ve completely redesigned our website, and added a page for the Gate EP and an online store.
- We’re writing and practicing again, and planning to record (a single? another EP?) early next year. We’ll let you know.
- Your rewards are coming. We’re finishing up the last of the mixtapes as you read this, and the rarities compilation is all but .zip’d up. And for many of you, packages were sent out on Tuesday. Watch your mailboxes!
- If you have a holiday over the weekend, had one already, have one coming up, or if you don’t: we wish you and yours the very best. And to all: happy new year!
Update #9: T-shirts, Ant Farms, and Stickers
Hope you're enjoying Gate! If you haven't already, grab it here:

Quick update on the goodies. See the pictures below.
Our friend AJ graciously screen-printed your T-shirts over the weekend, and we'll be sending them out with the rest of your rewards this week.
I've just put in the order for the ant farms, and they should be here shortly.
We got a few more stickers printed, too.
Mixtapes and the rarities CD-R are shaping up nicely.
Hope to see you on Thursday! For those of you not on Oahu, we're trying to set up video of the show. We'll keep you posted.
Update #8: One Week Until ‘Gate’ Drops! Download now!
Today is December 2; it's a week before ‘Gate’ is officially released. As our Kickstarter backers, you get to download it today. We finished up the digital booklet this morning, and the digital package of ‘Gate’ is ready to go.
Get it now!

The Goods
The CDs, download cards, buttons, and stickers are here. We're screen-printing your T-shirts this weekend. We just ordered the ant farms. We'll be packaging everything up and sending it out as soon as it's ready! Check out the photos below.
The Party
We're celebrating the release of ‘Gate’ at Apartment 3 in Honolulu next Thursday, December 9, 2010. Our friends Stephen Agustin and DJ Matt Ratt (of Sick Tyte) will be performing, and we'll do the ‘Gate’ EP in full. No cover, and all manner of swag (T-shirts, CDs, etc.) will be on sale. We're incredibly excited and hope to see you there. (Directions and information: http://apartmentthree.com/)
Update #7: We Made It!
In fact, we more than made it! Thanks to a few new backers in the past few days and a few existing backers upping their pledge amounts, we've not only reached our goal of $2,500 but made it to $2,600 with four days to go. We're unbelievably excited, and this great news comes right on the tail of some other news: the mastering is complete! We received the finalized songs last night and we've been listening to them nonstop.
Paul and Ara and I met tonight for the first time since we recorded three weeks ago (Ara's been visiting family in the Philippines). We talked about album art, packaging, T-shirt designs, and the release schedule. As of now, we know this: the official release party will be at Apartment 3 in Honolulu on Thursday, December 9th. We'll be releasing the album to you, our backers, two weeks before that, on November 25th. And we'll probably release an MP3 before that!
Talk to you soon. And THANK YOU. You're the best.
Update #6: Quick EP Update
- New photos from the recording process on our Facebook, including shots of the giant warehouse we re-recorded some vocals and drum tracks in to get extra, natural ambience.
- That "very special and permanent change for one of our members" we mentioned? That was a tattoo — Matt finally got his COTQ ant tattoo! See the attached picture. Paul's tattoo also pictured. Brothers from other mothers. Ara's jealous.
- Mastering didn't happen over the weekend, but we're told it will commence this week. We're looking at a release in the first or second week of November at the latest, I think. You backers will get it digitally before that, though.
- The name of the EP is: GATE
- Thank you to all of our backers so far. More updates coming soon.
