The Magic Comic Book is a project to create a full color, 20 page mini comic designed to teach beginner magic tricks in a fun and visually engaging way.
By contrast, magic has traditionally been taught in "text book" format. It's usually accompanied by nice illustrations, but those illustrations don't go far enough to teach the highly visual, technically complicated, art of magic. By using a graphic, sequential art format the tricks will be easy to understand and duplicate.
The book isn't written as a show and tell, however. Instead, it uses a form of incidental teaching, which is to say that the magic is taught incidentally throughout the story.
The story opens with the main character, 16 year old Aiden Oliver, waking up the morning of his girlfriend's birthday party, only to realize he's forgotten to plan it. He sets out to throw something together last minute, and along the way he performs and teaches magic to a bevy of interesting characters, making friends and winning favors.
In a fashion typical of a fun, kid oriented comic, all turns out okay in the end as, with the help of his new friends, he's able to put together an amazing sweet 16 party.

Great question - it's a very important point that I've thought a lot about.
First, I'll record a video of me teaching and performing the tricks (the same one being offered in the rewards) for him/her to use as a reference. But I've also roughly storyboarded the action so he can see how I envision the shots being framed. We'll communicate as he/she sketches it out, and if need be I'll rerecord key bits to communicate exactly how the trick needs to be broken down to the readers.
