What is Aera?

Aera is a new Mobile Game that merges the imagination world with the real world. Using only their imagination, children are capable of creating new worlds and creatures unlike the world has ever seen. The problem with your imagination is that as you grow older, it begins to fade... But just because you cease to imagine the world doesn't mean the world is gone...

In Aera, all the creatures and worlds created using imagination can be visible again allowing us to interact with our long lost friends and even make a few more along the way. You now have the ability to raise these creatures and adventure with them. You can discover new and exciting places, treasures, and other creatures in your adventures and even challenge others to combat.

Gameplay

There are three main gameplay aspects to Aera: Crafting, Adventure, and Combat.

Crafting

Crafting in Aera is unique in that instead of making items, armor, or weapons like many other games, you will actually be creating new creatures. Through your adventures, you'll come across new creatures you may have never seen before. You'll have the ability to create new ones by combining creatures that you have. Not all combinations will work, so it's up to you and the community to discover what will work. These new hybrid creatures are even more powerful and will help you as you adventure to more dangerous locations and challenge some of the elite creatures.

Adventure

Adventuring is the focal point of the game. There are many ways that you can adventure in Aera. The first is by sending some of your creatures out on missions around the world. They will return with rare items and treasures for you to enjoy. Another way of adventuring is exploring with your creatures in the wild. Select the area to explore and see what you'll uncover together. There are many great rewards and even some exciting battles you may encounter. Always be prepared. The third way to adventure is by exploring the real world yourself. Checking in at different locations will earn you additional items to help you and your creatures as you progress. You may even find new creatures for yourself!

Combat

Creatures not only love exploring, they love competing and protecting you. Creatures will be able to engage others in combat through random encounters or by challenging your friends. If you train your creatures properly, you will give yourself an edge over your opponent. Choose your attacks wisely, You never know what might happen...

Social Experience

Utilizing the strengths of a mobile device, Aera will allow you to enhance your gameplay experience through your real world interactions:

• As you travel to new places, you will be rewarded for "checking-in" with new items and maybe even additional creatures
• Different parts of the real world will have different creatures available. You might find a creature in Michigan that does not exist in California for example. Explore the world yourself, send creatures to these locations, or trade with others to amass a unique and complete army!
  
• Battle your friends to see who is the strongest, or even challenge those around you in a public place to see who is the "King of the Mountain" at that location. Become the "King" and receive bonuses as long as you remain king!
  
• Adventures reach a whole new level of fun when you begin a hunt to different locations around you in this interactive scavenger hunt to discover some of the rarest items and creatures in the game
• Share your achievements online and through social media with leaderboards, collections and badges. There are hundreds of badges to earn
• Design your avatar however you want to match your style. Through your gameplay, you'll unlock new features and appearance items. Share your look with your friends!
  
• More experiences are being created as I work through the development process.
  

Why Kickstarter?

To bring this game to life, there is still a lot of work that needs to be done. Some of the specific items that I need to purchase includes:

• mobile app development software license
• iOS developer program fees
• test devices (Android and iOS supported phones, tablets)
• Misc. development fees
  

Additional costs are:

• Contracted Graphic Artist
  
• Contracted Developer to assist me with some of the nitty gritty
  

I know exactly what I need and who I can work with to make this app a reality. I feel that Kickstarter is the perfect place to reach the community for help in getting the startup funds needed to "kick start" this project. I want to get the target audience of my game involved in the development and excited for this mobile app. This is just a start of what I'm hoping to bring to Aera at launch, and if the game is as successful as I expect it to be, there is so much more to come :) What I have in store for this game is huge. Help me get it rolling and be a part of something awesome!

What do you get out of it?

With your help, I will be able to get this game to the public much sooner. I am prepared to offer a ton of bonus incentives for pledging your support as listed on the right. Many of the rewards offer in-game items such as creatures, enhancement items, in-game currency, and even the opportunity to work with my team to create a creature of your very own imagination.
