Marty = A filmmaker and teacher. He enjoys working with youth. He paid off all his student loans from University of Michigan. His steady job teaching film to high school students ends in May. He loves Kelly. He wants to explore the world.
Kelly = An Art School graduate from University of Michigan. A photographer. She enjoys working with youth. She loves Marty. She wants to adventure.
WHAT WE'RE DOING
Together, we are starting an expedition from Ann Arbor, MI to Alaska to Argentina on July 6th, 2010. We will be traveling indefinitely and living as cheaply as possible. When we're on the road, we'll mostly be camping. The length of our trip will be determined by travel expenses, temporary jobs, and whimsical flights of fancy.
THE JOURNEY: PART 1
For Part 1 of our journey, we will depart Ann Arbor in July, spend August and September in Alaska, and then make our way to Portland where we will settle for the winter and find temporary jobs. During this time, we will be researching Part 2 of journey: Central + South America. Part 2 will commence in Spring of 2011.
OUR GOALS
1. Travel + Explore the Americas while gaining a greater appreciation for our World
2. Produce Art + Initiate Creative Endeavors
3. Teach Free Film + Photography Workshops to Youth in the majority of Communities on our route
4. Live Minimally + become more adept with Basic Survival Skills
5. Explore Local Food + Farms
6. Document the whole Experience through Writing, Photography, and Film
PLEDGES
We have raised $6000 with our own money and hope you'll help us raise another $6000 to meet our goal. You're money will be used for our camping/survival gear, some travel expenses, and additional photo equipment so we can teach our workshops and document our journey.

If you don't have an Amazon Payments account, it only takes a second. It's all or nothing funding, so you will only be charged for your pledge if we reach our goal of $6000.
