Hello MT Fans!
It's time for a new record! Finally eh!?! We had a couple kiddo's since our last record which had a bit to do with the delay, but everything is in place! We are going back to our acoustic roots and will be teaming up with Producers Chris Rosser (Asheville, NC) and Jerry York (Houston, TX) to make what will surely be the best MT record ever! We can't wait for everyone to hear this batch of 12 new songs!
It's been 5 years since the critically acclaimed release of Forget October. Recently we have enjoyed such success as several TV/Film Placements, regular airplay on XM/Sirius Radio The Coffee House Channel, Billboard's Top 10 Critics Choice, features in USA Today & Newsweek Magazine and Continental Airlines In Flight Radio Play.
It's now time for Martha's Trouble to release a new record, the working title which is subject to change, is......LOVE REVOLUTION. To do this, we have partnered with Kicktstarter.com to raise the funds necessary to properly record and release this record. So, what will be different with this record?
Well for starters, we are switching gears a little bit in that we are going to release an album that will allow us to crossover into the Christian market as well as the mainstream market. We have been playing on the worship band at our church, Cornerstone over the last two years and we've had many people come up to us and ask if we were ever going to do a Christian CD. It definitely got us thinking. We realized that with all the ground work we have done to better ourselves as musicians and all the experience we gained over the last 10 years of life on the road, it would only make perfect sense to use that for the Kingdom of God. Of course with two little ones now, (Wilson 4, and Emery 2) it made that decision ever more easy.
Martha's Trouble is an independent band, always has been since we released our first album in 1998. Being an "independent" artist simply means we DO IT ALL when it comes to recording and releasing an album. We do not have the support or the budget of a major record label. There are many cost involved to properly record and release an album. Let's break it down:
...Engineers, Producers, and musicians to make the record
...Mixing Engineer
...Mastering Engineer
...Graphic Designer for CD artwork
...Photographer
...CD Manufacturer
...Retail & Digital Distribution
...Publicist
...Radio Promoter
...CD Release Tour

Pop folk music with searing female vocals, Martha’s Trouble has been compared to the Cranberries, Cowboy Junkies, Natalie Merchant, Dar Williams, and Alanis Morissette. The husband-wife duo first hit the Houston music scene in 1994 and has been gaining momentum ever since, touring Canada and the southeastern U.S. With seven albums, an inspiring list of awards (including Americana Album of the Year at the 2005 Just Plain Folks Awards), sales to Hollywood, and an evolving sound, this duo carries a sizeable and ever-increasing fan club. Radio airtime and a nonstop tour schedule has put Martha’s Trouble in the spotlight in recent years; its 2007 release, Forget October, reached number 3 on XM Radio. Besides the angelic vocals, the band might be best known for its upbeat tunes juxtaposed with soul-searching lyrics—a combination that leaves listeners inspired.
