About this project
In early 2011 Marquee Five plans to rendezvous in NYC to record our debut album: “8-Track Throwback”. This album is the soundtrack to our most recent show, featuring all original arrangements of singer/songwriter hits of the 60’s, 70’s and early 80’s, including songs by Simon and Garfunkel, Stevie Wonder, Carole King, Elton John, Joni Mitchell, Stevie Wonder, Janis Joplin, and more! We had a tremendous time performing the music of “8-Track Throwback” in 2010 and received numerous requests to make a recording.
But… we need help to make this happen, and you can be a part of it! We need to raise $15,000 to fund the recording of this CD. Your contributions will be applied to top-notch recording studio rental, our phenomenal sound engineer and mixer, our brilliant instrumentalists, and the licensing rights to the classic songs we’ll be singing.
The band will feature seasoned recording artists Mark Janas on piano, Tony Romano on guitar, and Matt Scharfglass on bass. On vocals, of course, is the 2010 MAC Award-winning Marquee Five: Mick Bleyer (bass), Adam West Hemming (tenor), Vanessa Parvin (soprano), Sierra Rein (alto), and Julie Reyburn (mezzo).
With your help, we can raise enough to make this recording happen. Plus, depending on the size of your pledge, you can pick and choose rewards (signed copies of the album, Marquee Five t-shirts, concert comp tickets, personalized phone-grams, workshops, private performances, even an original arrangement/recording of your choosing!) - all ways for us to thank you for supporting Marquee Five and this project!
