Marosia is a FREE browser-based text RPG currently in development where the user can create their own story in their own artistic way.
Marosia. A free text based browser RPG, that is modernized, so that you can be a character in an ever evolving book.
Features:
-Hunger/Need for food!
-Optional instant spawning for the first character made!
-Family/Mating System (Characters can bring other characters into the world through breeding, making an interesting family dynamic!)
-Crafting System!
- No NPCs. Every character is a real person!
- Gods molded from the culture and beliefs of the characters, who may answer prayers, and start story line events!
-Stackable items with item sprites!
-Skill-based combat tailored to include RP!
-Farming system to grow your own crops, and to stimulate trade!
-Taming system to acquire mounts!
-Sheparding skill to farm animal resources, and to start animal ranches!
-Fully customizable items, clothing, buildings, and locations. Players make their decriptions, which means almost every user-made item is unique!
-Events, such as natural disasters, on a regular basis that affect whole areas that spice up RP, and give characters the chance to make difficult decisions. This gives players experiences they would never have on their own!
-Several types of rare magic that can actually be used in the game, like phasing, telekinesis, or telepathy!
-Perma-death, and lifespans!
-Up-gradable towns to allow more expansion, gaining more land, and influence!
-Interesting races with unique benefits, such as skill talents and flying!
-Interactive RP skills such as persuasion, deception, and seduction!
-An ever evolving virtual world where technology and cultures can grow!
-Every story is different, and with balanced character turnover so you're never left stagnant!
The Developer:
In early 2012, independent game developer Tess Carts concluded that the text-based browser RPGs currently on the market were lacking a certain personal experience so she decided to set out and create her own game.
Marosia is just that game.
It combines all the greatness that comes with a text based game, and adds in the fantasies of story-telling, magic, family, relationships, drama, politics, and anything else a player can imagine! Seriously, that's how much freedom you have! Your character can be whatever they dream to be, and whoever they develop as. Are they like their mom, or their dad? If they don't have any, what experiences did they go through in their first steps in life? Are they evil, good, somewhere in between? It's all possible!
All the donations will go towards server hosting costs, our graphic designer, advertising, as well as paying the costs to move to a large private server when it's time to, since it's a rather large game. It'll also help fund the Marosia app that I hope to create so that you can access the game from facebook and your mobile devices with easy to use functionality.
Marosia is being coded in php, and ajax.
