New Stretch Goals and Add-Ons
Howdy Magpie Fans!
Again, THANK YOU so much for helping us reach the $10,000 stretch goal. We're starting to get pitches from our writers, and we are super, super excited to be working on a new batch of short fiction. THANK YOU!
For our next few stretch goals, we thought we'd keep them small, simple, and useful. We want to add new things to the books that will make Our Last Best Hope easy to learn and fun to play:
Stretch Goal #3: Mission Videos and QR Codes ($12,000)
If we can get to $12,000 in total funding, we'll shoot and produce videos that document how to play Our Last Best Hope step-by-step. To make those easily accessible while you're actually playing, we'll also include QR Codes that will allow you to use your any mobile device to call up video relevant to the section of the book you're reading!
For example, we'll put a QR Code in book next to the instructions for resolving Threats to the mission. You can use your smartphone or tablet to scan that code and instantly call up the video that shows you how to resolves Threats. Here's an example:

We're really excited about how these videos can make the game more accessible and friendly and we would be thrilled to put them directly into the book. QR codes allow us to walk you through the game as if we met your gaming group personally.
Stretch Goal #4: Our Last Best Hope Playmats ($14,000)
One of our favorite parts of the Fiasco materials is the Fiasco playmat, a quick guide to the rules of Fiasco that you can set in the middle of the table to keep things on track.
We'd love to develop something similar for Our Last Best Hope. If we can get to $14,000 in total pledges, we will not only produce a Playmat for use with the game, but also include a laminated, physical copy for all backers who pledge at least $25. We'll make the PDF of the playmat free to everyone, but the laminated copies will be limited editions, numbered and autographed by the Magpie staff.

@Teik - Thanks! The book should be pretty light, but shipping to UK is roughly equal to the rest of Europe. We're estimating that it will cost about $17 (because we send priority). The packages we've sent regular mail have sometimes taken two months+ to arrive.

@Mark Thanks for generous option to reduce postage charges for UK. Price depends on weight really. Not sure how thick or heavy book (and playmat hopefully) may be! But have pledged the full $15 postage to $25 package for now. Do look into weight and shipping to Europe if you think it needs adjusting.

@Teik - We're asking for $15 for postage to the UK, but you probably know better than we do what it actually costs to mail something to you. If you feel $5 or $10 is more appropriate, that's fine.
