Update #27: CD Release Party
Update #26: Here is the preview of the video.
Update #25: Sneak Preview of the Album Including the new mix of Stick Boy
Update #24: Next Edit
Update #23: Watching the Video
Update #22: Time to start getting the rewards ready.
I hope to have an edit of the video by this weekend. I still don't have the final mix of Stick Boy done yet. I'll have it done soon.
I'm going to try to make a little video showing me making the shirts. It's been fun, doing this whole part of the larger project. Although it took me much longer to complete than I originally thought.
As it turns out, when you are small, you certainly have the ability to make changes on short notice and you can be very agile in that way. But being minimally funded more than offsets that advantage. I have been getting great rates at the studio, and my musician friends have pitched in to help for free, but at that point you have to work around their schedule. This is not a complaint, by any means. I could not have made the album or the video without everyone who helped. It is much more a statement of the situation for anyone else who might be thinking about doing a project like this. Yes it is possible to make it fast, but how fast might depend entirely on how much liquid cash you have to keep the schedule progressing.
I'll get a nice "white label package" together for the DVD. The T-shirts will be hand decorated. The CD Release party will be scheduled soon.
Here are a couple more production stills.
All I need to do is reiterate for you all not to share the video as soon as you get it. It will take several weeks to get the CD on iTunes. So please wait for me to officially release it before you start sharing it. I want to have the iTunes link ready before I release the video. After that of course feel free to share it.

Update #21: Sorry for the news blackout!
Sorry. I didn't mean to leave you folks out of the loop. Things are starting to come together. I have stills from the video. The first edit should be done by next week. I start the last couple days of mixing on my album next week. So, things are really happening.
Here are a couple of production stills. I still don't want to give too much away. So these may not mean too much.

Update #20: Finl mix.
Update #19: Editing
Most of the footage is shot and editing is scheduled for March 3. Unfortunately I've decided that I want to do one more mix of Stick Boy. I can't get into the studio until March 8, so we'll have to work out those little details.
Other details of this adventure are coming together. But I'll let you all know that later.
Thanks again
Mark
Update #18: Production has begun!
That's all I can say. If I'm lucky I may have a production still for you later.
I'm trying to keep this under wraps.
Everyone who makes a video hopes it goes viral and for the right reasons. But if the song goes viral and I don't yet have the album up on iTunes and Amazon, I miss a HUGE chance: I could make $20 or $30 dollars.
Just trying to be realistic.
Seriously though, I'm gonna let the people to whom I promised copies have a pre-screening, but I'll have to trust you not to email it to friends or show it to anyone until I tell you. Who knows what it will do. If I get 300 views on youtube, I'll be happy.
I won't be starting another project until these two are done, but it will be cool and necessary and will hopefully build on the framework these two projects have established.

Update #17: The plot thickens.
Update #16: An update about the video.
I talked to Jesse ewles today and he has some awesome ideas. No production schedule yet. Nothing finalized. I'm working out the money transfer and business details.
Wish I could make it sound sexier. But that part comes later, when you see the video.
It's exciting.

When I got lymphoma, I decided to suspend work on my thesis and form another band to record my original tunes. The tunes were mostly written while I was on the road with The Doctor Wu Rock and Soul Revue. I recorded that first album "Heavy Mariner" with funds raised here at Kickstarter!
Among the adventures we've had, at our first session to lay down rhythm tracks we followed Gin Blossoms drummer John Richardson into the studio. He was so cool, he let us borrow his drums to record our tracks. How cool is that?
Two of the tracks off that album "Three Speeds In Reverse" and "You Better Believe It" made the long Grammy Ballot in October. I won't know if I got a nomination until December.
Band membership has been fluid and daws from my many musical friends who were willing to work for free.
As far as the cancer goes, I've been on a clinical at MD Anderson for about 2 years and as long as the results are stable, I will maintain that Status Quo. I will eventually need a Bone Marrow transplant, so I am trying to do everything that is important to me before that day comes!
