About this project

FUNDING REACHED with 3 days to go. Keep the pledges coming. I have plenty of tables available at our CD release party and the bigger the budget, the slicker the video.

Welcome to the best kept secret on Kickstarter. Join scores of other supporters and be a part of a great creative project.

ORIGINAL ARTICLE BEGINS HERE:

I have been obsessed with the artistic vision of Jesse Ewles since I first came across his video for In Case of Fire's song "Enemies." I wanted to introduce my friends and fans to his work, and what better way than to collaborate on the music video for my first single, Stickboy.
The plan is simple, I raise the money. He makes the video.
The budget is $1000. The entire budget is to go to video production. Anything we raise above $1000 will be used to defray the cost of making the DVD and other supporter incentives (I pay for all incentives myself before that point.) Anything we raise above that will go back into the video budget.
So the first creative input you folks get to have a say about is how big of a budget the video has.

CHRISTMAS SPECIAL $4 & $5 copies of the album. As many as you'd like.

$5 copies
The album will make a great Christmas Gift! So, as another option at the $20 Level You can get 4 signed "white label copies" of the album. Give them as Christmas gifts. (That's $5 each.) Choose this option and pledge more and I'll give you as many copies at $5 each as you'd like. White labels are pre-release copies and will not have all the artwork. They will all be signed, however and they'll sound great.
$4 Copies
At the $100 take as many as you'd like for $4 each. (just make your pledge divisable by 4!)

Jesse is currently working on his first short film and will be finished after the first of the year, just before funding time runs out on this project. I hope this project excites you as much as it excites me because you determine the funding level: Low budget or Big Budget, the choice is yours.

Connected

When I got lymphoma, I decided to suspend work on my thesis and form another band to record my original tunes. The tunes were mostly written while I was on the road with The Doctor Wu Rock and Soul Revue. I recorded that first album "Heavy Mariner" with funds raised here at Kickstarter!

Among the adventures we've had, at our first session to lay down rhythm tracks we followed Gin Blossoms drummer John Richardson into the studio. He was so cool, he let us borrow his drums to record our tracks. How cool is that?

Two of the tracks off that album "Three Speeds In Reverse" and "You Better Believe It" made the long Grammy Ballot in October. I won't know if I got a nomination until December.

Band membership has been fluid and daws from my many musical friends who were willing to work for free.

As far as the cancer goes, I've been on a clinical at MD Anderson for about 2 years and as long as the results are stable, I will maintain that Status Quo. I will eventually need a Bone Marrow transplant, so I am trying to do everything that is important to me before that day comes!
