Update #5: Our email address (sorry for the confusion)
Update #4: All backers: we need your physical addresses
Update #3: Rewards, etc
Update #2: 11 days to go!
Hey everyone. This is Quin. As the days of our fundraising dwindle, we are about a quarter way to our goal of $10,000. The beauty of Kickstarter project and its Internet-based nature is that anyone with access to a computer and a bank account can donate. In the last minute someone may choose to contribute the necessary amount of dollars so we can reach our goal.
Our largest donor thus far has been $500. With about $7600 to go we’re still holding out for some larger donations. If you know anyone in a position of influence that would like to support us, we would really appreciate bringing our project to their attention. Otherwise, simply posting our link on your facebook profile and asking other people to do the same is very helpful — especially if you are one of those people who have like 500 million friends.
Because our project won’t be funded unless we reach our goal, David, Justin and me have discussed about how to proceed if this turns out to be the case. We had the thought that if people who have already pledged funds to us want to offer those funds to us directly, that’s totally encouraged. After the deadline has passed, we will offer an address, and people could cash or checks made payable to Mano Farm. We will tally up the funds, offer rewards accordingly and then post a list of how many CSA shares we were able to subsidize with those funds.
Thanks to everyone who has supported our farm, this project, and our food justice campaign. This is only the beginning for us.

Update #1: Anyone in need of a homeopath?
Hey everyone,
Quin here. We are incredibly grateful to all that have donated to our CSA fundraiser thus far — about five percent toward our goal in five days — and we appreciate all who have spread the word. To sweeten our fundraising, I wanted to let you all know that we have received a gracious offer from our friend and Ojai community member Mary Aspinwall, a classically trained homeopath. Mary runs Ojai Haven, a homeopathic treatment center in town. She has made an offer of three months of free treatment — a $585 value — for the first person who pledges $500. If you don't live in Ojai, she offers phone consultations. Her web site is http://www.ojaihaven.com, if you want to know more about her and homeopathy in general. If you know anyone who wants to receive homeopathic treatment by a world class professional AND support local agriculture and food justice in the Ojai Valley, please let them know.
Alright, that's all for now...
Quin

Mano Farm is a hand-cultivated, experimental farm on one acre of land in Ojai, California. We specialize in heirloom vegetables and medicinal herbs, and offer our produce through a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. We do not use chemical fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides; we are “organic” in all ways, save official certification.
Good luck to you ... I just increased my pledge.
