Update #6: Bright Bike Kits shipped (most of them!)
Most of the Bright Bike Kits shipped last week. At the last minute I realized I had no Royal Blue, so I shipped everything else, and the Royal Blue (and the custom kits) will ship when I return to NYC in a week. I'm currently in Portland setting up a solo show: http://www.mandiberg.com/2010/03/23/the-great-recession-at-pnca/
Thanks again to everyone who supported the project. If you want more kits, or didn't get in when the project was being funded, you can get kits from http://brightthread.com/
If you have not submitted your address and cut/color info, please do so, or I can't send you your kits!
Thanks again to everyone who backed this project. We were able to buy a large bulk order of vinyl and are now making kits with our new jigs.
An awesome Kickstarter success!
And remember, please upload a photo of your bike to Flickr tagged "brightbike", or send it to me and I'll upload. Please give it a CC-BY-SA license so we can use it in making a new video of all of your sweet safe rides. (more on CC here: http://creativecommons.org/about/)

Update #5: Bright Bike = EPIC WIN!
The Bright Bike campaign just finished with a bang. EPIC WIN!
Thank you all for contributing to the project.
I believe that a magic door will open in the administrative interface for the campaign, and I will be able to query all the backers about what cut and color combination they want. It didn't happen when the countdown hit zero seconds... I am assuming it will happen at some point.
I will ship out kits in the order that people backed the project.
Thanks again to everyone who made this possible!
Update #4: Success, with a week left
Bright Bike is officially successful! The campaign crossed the $2000 mark this morning. I want to thank you all for backing this project! Without you it would not have happened.
With this milestone reached, I have started fabrication. I put a big order of vinyl on my credit card and have hired a helper to help me start fabricating the kits.
There are still seven days to go, so you can still pass the word on to friends. More support just means a bigger scale up!
Thanks Again!
Michael
Update #3: Second Jig At Work
We put the second jig to work today cutting Pinstripe kits. It works beautifully. It makes the hand production we were using look like... hand production. We are still using our hands, because hands are pretty damn precise, but we are moving much much faster now.
Its kind of like riding a bicycle. You could be in a car, but you can get there without electricity. You just need some gears and two wheels.
We got our wheels today!
Update #2: Video of the first jig in use!
Update #1: Crossed the 1/3 mark!
The Bright Bike campaign has crossed the 1/3 mark. I'm feeling confident that this is going to happen!
I'm going to start the process of making the jig over the next few days. I will post pictures as they become available.
