The MalMart Burning Man Theme Camp is returning in 2012 as BAALMART, gifting the Playa with the best view in the city!
Los Angeles based Burning Man Theme Camp MAL-MART presents BAAL-MART 2012. This year Mal-Mart is grabbing you by the BAALs.
(FYI - BAAL is a 14th Century BC Phoenician God of Fertility)
For 2012, we plan to go BAALs deep with BAAL-MART; the camp of your wet dreams. Diversely comprised of participants with varying backgrounds including seasoned burners, bushy-tailed virgins, classical musicians, rocket scientists, ballet dancers, doctors, gays, straights and everything in between, BAAL-MART does not designate any single identity for its members other than pretty awesome. Our time is spent contributing to and participating with the community and ideals of Black Rock City. Despite our updated apropos name, we continue to promote the soul and traditions of Mal-Mart by following our supermart format where "shoppers" will be greeted and encouraged to browse our goods and services or climb our 70+ foot shaft tower for the best gift we could possibly give to our Burner community ... a bird's eye view of the greatest city on earth.
This fundraiser is to add some flair and finishing touches to Baal-Mart. The structure itself is 100% BUILT and FUNDED by the partners of Mal-Mart (our campers). However, we are seeking to make the structure as bold and beautiful as possible this year. The funds raised from this project will be used for the addition of white cloth panels, LED lights, and spotlights all over the structure to give it the most visually appealing look on the Playa. With your help, our tower will light the way for all as a navigational aid and artistic beacon of fertility.
