What’s the project?
Push to Talk is a FEATURE LENGTH documentary film that will explore the topic of ham radio's relevance in a world of the Internet, Facebook, Twitter, Skype and other technologies shaping the way we all communicate.
Why the need?
As a newly licensed amateur radio operator, very early on I encountered a debate among 'hams' themselves that amateur radio (aka ham radio) has begun to die out. My aim is to explore whether or not that is true. The research and discoveries made since beginning my investigation have already brought me to a conclusion: it is still very much relevant in the 21st century. Help me show you and the rest of the world why that is.
What’s the plan?
My vision is for a character-driven film that resonates with audiences through powerful storytelling, imagery, and facts. My research is nearly complete. We've scheduled interviews with some highly public figures, lined up numerous events to film at and have begun searching for the truly interesting people to interview to show how diverse the ham radio community is. But what we need the most is you.
Why we need your help?
The better quality film we can make, the more likely it's going to be shown in film festivals, hopefully even your local theater, and that means more and more people knowing about and appreciating ham radio.
Here are just a few things that a quality documentary will require:
Licensing fees for archival footage
Licensing fees for music
Color correcting the film
Sound mixing
DVD mastering
DVD replication
Where the money is NOT going...
We are not asking for you to help us buy stuff. We've already made a considerable investment in filming, lighting, editing, and sound equipment. The money we raise will not benefit any other projects. 100% will be used for this project alone.

That means we can add more production value to the film: better historical footage, better music, better sound, more submissions to film festivals and generally creating a better film for you.FAQ
