Hello,

My name is Luke Sayers, and the best thing I have to offer this world are the songs that I write, record, and perform. I am an independent acoustic American roots singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist based in the Chicago area seeking to record my fourth studio album. This new collection of songs truly come together to form the best and most complete album I have written to date. The recording will be titled "The Off the Grid Sessions", because of the true independent spirit that gave birth to this project. After the release of my last CD "Radio Flower" in 2008, I was blessed to have a steady flow of new songs going through me. This was one of those mixed blessings, however, because I had a commitment to promote and perform the songs featured on "Radio Flower". The financial commitment was another obstacle on this new path of creativity. This was the third CD I had funded on my own, and my first full length recording. Even with the generosity and support of my fans the financial toll of the project made it impossible to begin work on recording these new songs. So, I decided to utilize the technology on my website www.lukesayers.com coupled with my home studio to record demos of these new songs and make them available to download directly from my Music page. Many of these songs are also streaming on http://www.myspace.com/lukesayers and updated as new demos are completed. I've even made home burned CDs for those fans who have not fully embraced the mp3 revolution. These new songs deserve to be given the proper treatment in a real studio, and to be fully realized on the next CD. Having the recording duplicated by Oasis will also allow me to put it on CD Baby who will digitally distribute the songs on all the major sites like iTunes right alongside all the major label artists. The $5,000 I'm asking for will cover the cost of recording, mixing, mastering, duplication, graphic design, and promotional materials.

I have been my own manager, booking agent, publicist, and everything in between since releasing my first solo EP "Songbook; the introduction" in 2005. After hearing "Songbook", Mark Lush of Midwestbands.com wrote "I feel like I have glimpsed the heart and soul of a true artist. ‘Songbook; the introduction’ has been one of the highlights of my year". In 2007 I released my next EP "Long Way Back" of which Martin Bandyke (Ann Arbor's 107one FM) wrote "Luke Sayers has a powerful, passionate voice, and it's put to good use on the heartfelt, beautifully written tunes on his new CD." My goal is to have "The Off the Grid Sessions" exceed the success level of "Radio Flower", which received the following praise/honors:
