About this project
The Love Project: Beautiful from the Inside Out
Portraits of those affected by Domestic Violence will be displayed and paired with personal reflections in word and video format, on Valentines Day 2012. Through insight, wisdom and a visual photographic experience participants have the opportunity to transform the way they think of themselves and others.
It is my hope that this project will create a dialogue about domestic violence, love and respect within our community, and we will gain a better understanding of the similarities we all share.
By having the exhibit opening on Valentines Day, I also wish to challenge the community to look at love in a meaningful way: the love that comes from within yourself, for yourself. If we are constantly searching for love from someone or something else, we will have missed the true meaning of happiness, that which dwells within each of us.
Participants from the project also receive a framed photograph of themselves as a visual reminder of their beauty and wisdom, inside and out.
