michelle, i actually started flow charting the various elements of blight last night, trying to think how it can be personified. fun stuff. :-)

spaulding, i think it's a good idea to suggest a quilt-work landscape that includes various detroit landmarks. personally, love the idea of including spaulding court among other notable structures. we can suggest that to the artists.

      awesome!

omg, can Spaulding Court be the backdrop? and can people pop out of the windows and stoops?

krista, absolutely amazing. thank you so much. it's incredible that ryan will be interpreting an artistic scene that has so much family relevance. we had no idea! we'll most certainly ask him to include that element in his work. the connections that happen when you put stuff out into the world...just wild. heartfelt thanks. - jerry

Pledging $500 in the name of Rodes Walters, the artist, Ryan Ford's grandfather, who worked for Ford Motor Company in Detroit for 42 years. Would love to see his grandson's work include something that represents the auto industry that supported his family of eight children, 33 grandchildren and too many to count great grandchildren. Not to mention the name connection. Sorry Ryan Ford no relation to Henry I'm afraid.
