Hi, I’m Kimberly Novosel and I’m about to publish my first novel, Loved.
But I really need your help to do it. I’m asking fans of my writing, and fans of reading in general, to pledge your support to help me raise the money to fund this project.
Who am I? I’m a small town girl who left for the big city at seventeen, who went on a journey to find love and adventure and identity but found heartache and tragedy and confusion on the way. Who, now twenty-nine, has realized I have a story to tell that could help young women see that they aren’t alone in the struggles they face and encourage them to know, earlier than I did, how to love themselves and look further into their future. We are already becoming who we’re going to be.
What’s the book about? In Loved, the story follows a girl as she struggles to make her dreams of a career in the music world a reality, to find a deep and lasting romance, to identify herself and stand confidently in her skin. This is the story of a girl, but not just one girl. Every girl. Each one of us, in our late teens and early twenties, faces struggles in dating, with our diet and weight, with drinking or caring for ourselves properly, in our faith, with self-confidence. Loved will serve not only as a story I hope many people enjoy reading, but as a tool for me to speak into the lives of young women.

Final professional editing of the manuscript, cover art by H Maher Designs and
the first run of hardcover copies from printing company Lulu.com.
This budget covers getting the book print-ready and printing only. Every dollar we raise over $4,200 will be used for such things as paying for promoting the book once it's released and traveling to speak to young women about the book’s message.
Please Note: INTERNATIONAL BACKERS must add an additional $15 to each pledge of $50 or more for overseas shipping and handling.

My goal is to put the book out there into the hands of readers. I’d love to be published on a large scale, but that wasn’t my immediate goal. First I want to see how it does, what kind of impact it has. Maybe big publishing will happen with this book or maybe the next one, as I continue to grow as a writer.

I wish someone had told me at seventeen, or twenty, or even twenty-five that I wasn’t alone in my struggles and heartache, or encouraged me about the woman who I would become, in words that I would understand. Those messages come from parents, teachers, pastors and they don’t really sink in. In our early adult lives we tend to feel really isolated from most of the world and from our future selves. Life isn’t that hard. These young women need a new way to look at things and I’m hoping this story speaks to them in a way they really hear.
