About this project
Fund Lopeti Etu's debut at New York Fashion Week! After years of working for other designers, Lopeti Etu began his own millinery company last February. We want to celebrate our first anniversary and introduce the Lopeti Etu Millinery Falll 2011 collection with a spectacular solo show during New York Fashion Week Fall 2011.
Lopeti Etu wowed the audience at the Milliners Guild show during New York's Spring 2011 Fashion Week. Now we want to up our game, and produce an event that generates buzz and helps us to reach the attention of major accessories buyers.
We have turned to Kickstarter because we need financial support for costs related to production of the Fall 2011 collection, as well as for show expenses - stylists, models, photographers, a PR person and promotional materials. The event will take place as part of The Green Shows, which raises awareness of environmentally sustainable practices within the fashion industry.
Your donation will not only help us produce a memorable event, but will also introduce Lopeti Etu Millinery to an international audience of buyers, press, reps and consumers. We have the mailing list, we have many amazing hats to show, now we need to secure our venue and make the dream happen.

Born in Tonga, Lopeti Etu is an innovative designer based in New York City who draws inspiration from the world around him. Etu hand blocks all his hats, and creates one of a kind pieces using local suppliers and craftspeople.
His millinery designs have appeared on the cover of French Vogue, and in editorial shoots for Elle, Bazaar, O, Glamour and Self. Several of Etu's hats also made an appearance on the first season of Bravo's Work of Art: The Next Great Artist.
