LBRD's skaters produce monthly events that include, in-house event design artst booths, fire dancing, local bands, and roller derby.
Long Beach Roller Derby is built on the dream that women's Roller Derby can be more than just a sport played in a fluorescent lit hockey rink. Long Beach Roller Derby is a full fledged creative production that serves as a place for local artists and athletes to collaborate.
All uniforms, merchandise, photography, graphic design, marketing materials and the physical design of the actual event are produced in-house on a volunteer basis by the members of the league.
Our events serve as entertainment for a wide demographic and as a network of support and exposure for local talent.
To make our third season possible we are seeking funds to put toward our banked track and other items that make our productions possible . We wish to continue putting on our events for the skaters, artists, bands, dj's, and community of Long Beach.

No. In fact the girls pay dues every month to skate with LBRD. Everyone involved in the organization works as a volunteer.

We have a great production. We sell out almost every game. Where does the money go? Well, we only make money on tickets sales, vendor spaces, ads in the program, opportunity drawings and a few sponsorships. The Queen Mary makes all the money on alcohol, food and parking. With our high production overhead (rent, insurance, permits, security, flyers, programs, grandstands, sound &lighting, half time band, dj, fire dancers, etc.) most of that money we make goes right back into the next game. Except for the first few games of this season, we usually break even.

We love rollin out in the LBC! LBRD has been involved in several community and charity events. Some community events include the Long Beach Grand Prix, Long Beach Gay Pride, Belmont Shore Christmas Parade, Bixby's First Fridays, 4th St. Bike Festival, Latin American Parade and various art exhibits. Some charity events include Meals on Wheels, Ride for Autism, UB Safe Children's Safety Fair, Long Beach Cinemateque Drive In Movies, OC Weekly Fundraiser Party for the Make a Wish Foundation, Long Beach Spirit Walk and The Good Deed Flash Mob with Flash Mob America.
