Ok all you musicians! Want to have a chance to record an Iron Maiden song with me? Now you can! For the next 24 hours, anyone pledging 30$ to my kickstarter.com project at http://kck.st/auY6jD will get a hi-quality stereo wav file of my recorded version of either Run to the Hills, Iron Maiden, Can I Play With Madness or Wrathchild. I will give you vocals plus any (or all) of the following: drums, bass, rhythm and lead guitars. You add your own parts and post it up for us all to enjoy! Bingo, you're a star! The New Breed is a band from Kansas led by myself (Johnny Lokke) that was formed many years ago to raise money for my friend and metal brother Scot Goacher. Scot had an unfortunate accident and broke his hip in three places. This left him unable to drum for several months, which meant no income. His doctor bills were piling up, and Scot, his wife and his son needed our help in making ends meet until he could get up and get back behind the kit where he belonged. We've all had times in our lives when we needed help and someone stepped in...now it was our turn to step up and help someone ourselves. 100% of the profits on this project went to Scot and his family.
The first release featured such greats as Stefan Leibing of Primal Fear, Allan Atkins, founder and original vocalist for Judas Priest, Mike Campese, a master shredder from NYC who has also has written instructional articles in Guitar World magazine, and Chris "Wah Wah" Watson, an excellent axe player from the 80's NWOBHM band "Black Rose". We had a blast and the cd did very well.
Since the results were so positive, we released a follow up cd titled "Evolution". It also did very well and we were very pleased. The only problem was both releases were made on shoestring budgets and limited time, and as such never fully conveyed what this band could sound like with the proper hands behind the mixing desk.
With this release (entitled "Promises and Lies"), we (Johnny Lokke - guitars/vocals, Carlos Arcay - lead guitar, Tim White - bass, Solomon DeWitt - drums) are hoping to finally be able to hire someone to come in and help us make this release our "Screaming for Vengeance", "Back in Black" or "Number of the Beast" and give the world a gift to last a lifetime.

Johnny Lokke wants to be clear on one thing. "When I say I play classic heavy metal, I mean it. I don't rap, I don't growl, I don't do 'unplugged shows' and I don't plan on redoing my songs with an orchestra. I take two guitars, add in some pounding bass, throw down a vocal line that has melody and power, have actual guitar solos, and finally turn Scot (Goacher) loose to throw down a barrage of drums that will blow you away!"
Lokke began playing guitar at the age of 10, and was led to the alter of metal at age 14. "I remember it like it was yesterday...my first concert. It was KISS with all the original members. I was so excited! The concert starts and the lights go down, and a band I had never heard of takes the stage. The guitars are so loud I can't believe it. The bass is crushing my chest, and the drums sound like they are in my head! But then...what do I hear...my god, is that a human scream? It was JUDAS PRIEST onstage, ripping me limb from limb, taking no prisoners. I was hooked. I loved KISS, but I knew that musically, Priest was where it was at for me."
