Update #10: Our Second Screening!

Posted on January 24, 2011

Dear Backers,

It has been three months since the premiere of "Positive" and already we are screening it again!

This coming Tuesday (Jan. 25th) Reverse Town will be screening eight films at the Hollywood Theater, including "Positive". Reverse Town is a Portland film collective designed to support each filmmakers’ own efforts as well as serve as a forum for discussion of filmmaking in all its forms. The collective formed in 2009. The members include Mario Garza, Ian Geronimo, Daniel Klockenkemper, Brian Lancaster, Michael Roberson, and myself.

This will be our first official screening as a collective, and I am excited to have my final project, "Positive", screening with the seven other films. We will also be screening my much loved, "Bobby Beats", as well as "Beautiful Machines", which is what brought all us crazy kids together to form Reverse Town.

The screening will be at 7pm, at the Hollywood Theater (4122 Northeast Sandy Boulevard, 97212). Admission is $6.

This special screening is being put on by Grand Detour, a new center for experimental media, which opened its doors May 2010. Typically their screenings take place at 215 SE Morrison ; Suite 2020; Portland, OR. The space (located in the historic John Deere building in industrial SE) is a destination for national and international touring filmmakers and curators. They are planting the seeds towards their larger goal of becoming Portland’s hub for innovative video and media related artworks. Grand Detour is a haven for underground artists, digital methods classes, installations, and community discourse. Although starting just this month they are doing a few screenings at the Hollywood Theater, and Reverse Town is very honored to be one of them.

So I look forward to seeing you this Tuesday, Jan 25th at 7pm.

Thank you,

Liz Lewis
