Update #6: Mixing is Done! Mastering is Done! And I'm on Twitter?
Hi Kickstarter! I'm so excited to tell you that my album is super duper close to being in your hands (or ears, as it were)! Last week, the final mixes were mastered at Rare Form Mastering in Minneapolis. Now, we're finishing up artwork, liner notes, and tour dates. Stay tuned for tour dates and also (for you Kickstarter folks) an email coming atcha with some questions about where to send your Kickstarter rewards. Also, in this video, I failed to list my updated tour trajectory. Here are the cities, dates TBA: St. Paul, Minneapolis, Des Moines, Omaha, Billings or Bozeman, Missoula, Spokane, Seattle, Portland.
Update #5: A public danke shon to the Dunn Brothers barista and everybody else.
Here's an update for the masses.
(Sorry for the problems with the video--this should work now!)

Liz, thanks for these updates. I still get to see your beautiful face every now and then. Your release party might be the only social event I'm able to attend (ever, it feels like), and I can't wait! Congratulations on all this. You are so damn talented.

Update #4: We did it!!!
Update #3: $790 and Counting!
Hey everyone. Holy smokes, I can't believe how quickly we are approaching the goal! This is fantastic. With 20 days left, we have raised 79% of our stated goal! According to Kickstarter, if you reach or exceed your goal, you get to keep the money, but if you don't reach the goal, nobody gets charged. I'm confident that we're gonna make it--people have been extremely generous, and I'm excited to start dishing out singing telegrams and thank you notes as soon as possible. Of course, for those of you who pledged for a copy of the upcoming album, you'll have to wait for all the mixing, mastering, and duplicating to happen--but you're gonna get a product that I feel really proud of.
We're all done with the "lock-in" method of recording, where we just locked ourselves into Taylor and Suzanne's house for a week, and today we're meeting up to work at a more leisurely pace on some background vocals (my favorite thing to do). I love the lock-in method because I really love the way the creative process is fed by total immersion! Then again, I suspect Dan, Rachel, and Jake have had enough of my goofing off and puns. And it's nice for all of us to return to the outside world. :)
For those of you who have pledged, I'm gonna send you a track or two of unedited material soon so you can hear what you're investing in! For now, here are some photos that Rachel Price took of our week at Taylor and Suzanne's house....
Update #2: Days 4 and 5 of Recording!
Hello! At the end of the first week of this campaign, we've raised over 50% of the goal! This is fantastic news. I cannot even begin to express my immense gratitude! Recording is chugging along, here in St. Paul at Taylor and Suzanne Burr's house. We're having a blast working on these songs, and we're working hard. Here's a lil' update my friend Rachel Price filmed yesterday, while we were quietly waiting in the kitchen as Jake recorded a bass track.

Connected as Lizzy Ro (728 friends)
Originally from Iowa, Liz Rognes is a singer/songwriter and multi-genre artist currently based in Spokane, Washington. Classically trained as a soprano, Liz started writing and singing folk songs in college and fell in love with the idea of singing about her trouble. Her songs range from playfully flirtatious to introspective to string-busting energetic. Liz worked closely with her friend and producer Dan Zamzow of Deep Sea Productions to create her first album, Red Flags, in 2009, which quickly sold out. Liz re-released the record in Spokane in 2010, with the cover artistry of Bethany DeLine. A follow-up to Red Flags is percolating, but meanwhile, Liz continues cultivating her loves for vermiposting, vegan cooking, thinking, and teaching.
