CameraBooru Interview & Recent Work
I want to thank you all again for graciously donating. We're coming up on the last few days of fundraising and I cannot express how excited I am that, not only has my goal been reached, but it has been exceeded! Any and all money will make this project as great as it can be. Any extra money will certainly increase the quality of what I am able to produce.
I just wanted to share with you all a couple projects that I have been working on while this Kickstarter has been running. I posted before about an upcoming project that is related but not a part of "Once Upon a Time." I'm proud to now be able to share it with you all!
Little Red Riding Hood, 2012
This assignment was one of the things that got the idea rolling in my head for "Once Upon a Time." The original version of this story is one of the fairy tales I most admire for discussing adult themes but still holding onto the fantasy, and frankly, ridiculousness of childhood.
Ophelia, 120 film, 2012
This past weekend I did a photo shoot about Ophelia from Shakespeare's Hamlet. The character of Ophelia has always interested me (is she a feminist character? is she not?) and how frequently she appears in art through out the centuries. Again, I find myself attracted to stories are that are inherently and deeply sad. Ophelia's life starts with the brightness and hope of children... and ends in melancholy.
I shot this series in 120 film on my Mamiya RB67. This is the camera I will be using to shoot the entirety (outside of the Polaroids) of "Once Upon a Time." I'm pretty excited!!
You can see more HERE at my blog!
Aside from what I've been up to in the last month, I wanted to share this interview that Richard Finch published on CameraBooru, a directory for artists and photographers. Ther interview includes a bit more about what I am interested in, and a answers a few questions about "Once Upon a Time."
Check it out HERE!
