About this project
Welcome to the Kickstarter page for "Cover Story," a collection of essays, satire and fiction by Liz Colville featuring photographs by Colin Clark. The book is 100 pages of writing and art, all of which is brand new and never before published!
Ingredients
A sneak peek of a few of the things you'll find in the book: a very short story about a woman who is deaf and hates everybody; an essay about the New York subway system; an essay about long-distance running in winter; and a very short story about experiencing Thanksgiving without actually celebrating it. And much more!
Why Kickstarter?
"Cover Story" is something dear to my heart that I've been working on for the past two years whenever I've found the time. Now it's time to send it off to a printer and release it into the world!
Where You Come In
I'm looking for your help in funding the printing of the book, which will be published in an edition of 300––or more if we surpass our funding goal!––as a high-quality, perfect-bound paperback. In helping to support the creation of the book, you can also receive the book, a print of a photograph, and other assorted goodies related to the project, depending on how much you want to pledge. Pledge as little as $1 or as much as $200. It all helps!
Who?
For those unfamiliar with the work of the author and photographer, we live in Brooklyn, New York, where we devote as much time as we can to creative projects like this one. I'm a freelance writer and editor, and I write mostly about the arts. I've written some satirical pieces for The Awl, which will give you a good indication of what this book will contain. You can also check out my Tumblr for more clues. Colin is a photographer who is currently working on a cookbook. Feel free to peruse our websites below to learn more. Colin's photos are among the goodies you can win as a backer of this project (either the photos on his blog or his website), so be sure to check out his sites!
