What happened to Little Raleigh Radio?
Little Raleigh Radio is very alive and it's because of you constant support. We are preparing to start our web stream this spring and on October 15--- when the FCC opens the filing window--- we will be ready to submit the application for our LPFM license. This is the first filing window for LPFM licenses North Carolina in more than a decade.
What about the Kickstarter Incentives?
You have spread your love and support for Little Raleigh Radio since the beginning. In the quest for perfection we missed the estimated October delivery date. However everything is coming together and we are proud to announce that you will be able to get your incentives as early as Wednesday February 27--- and in person too!
Your posters, t-shirts, sweatshirts, magnets and stickers will available for pickup Wed. Feb 27 between 8:00 – 11:00PM at Humble Pie, 317 S. Harrington St, Raleigh 27603. We will be available to talk to you about the project and we want to hear why you love Raleigh and radio. Because it’s Wednesday at Humble Pie the music will be amazing. This week’s dose of bourbon and gin soaked neo-nostalgia will come from Sidecar Social Club. This ensemble of local jazz masters is fronted by Lisa Veronica Wood who gives Billie a run for her money. They perform an energetic mix that ranges from the classics to Cake.
What if I can’t make it to Humble Pie to pick up my Incentives?
For anyone who is unable to make it out to Humble Pie on Wednesday night February 27, your package will be sent to you in the mail.
And remember, Little Raleigh Radio is always looking for volunteers to grow with us. The first step for getting involved is to sign a volunteer form at http://bit.ly/S6XVloor emailing email@example.com
Congratulations to Nicholas Mayhew who is the recepient of the Lifetime VIP Pass to Hopscotch Music Festival. The festival starts Thursday and we're kicking it off with a day party, aka FREE SHOW, at Slim's Downtown. Join us at 1 pm with Once and Future Kings, Some Army, and Gray Young.
We are overwhelmed in the support Little Raleigh Radio is receiving. This project is officially Kickstarted. We have a lot of work to do to make this station happen but your donations are getting us started.
There has always been a bit of magic about radio to me, music and stories out of seemingly thin air. People are the source of those creations and radio is a tool that allows us to connect through listening. Your support of this project tells me that you are ready to be connected to a Raleigh that we are building, a creative, innovative, and dynamic community. For those of you that have something to share or say I look forward to helping you find your voice. For everyone who gets to listen to Little Raleigh Radio, you have my enthusiasm.
I hope that I can thank as many of you as possible tomorrow night at Kings (8/27/2012) but in case you can’t make it, I would like to say it now.
Thank you for believing that this idea has merit and for affirming my faith that now is the right time for hyper-local radio and that Raleigh is the right place for it.
