About this project

As we speak I'm actively raising funds for my film "Saving the Legends of the Chelsea Hotel".
Of course once this film is completed it will take on a new name but at the moment this is the working title.

A basic description is on two different sites however let me fill you in a bit more with what I'm actually going for. I'm going to give this description in the form of a list so that I don't ramble and the information is better to digest.

1. I'm going to check into the Chelsea Hotel in July for the allotted 24 days. I will film all 24 days while there.

2. Currently speaking (as it's important to go with what I do have) I will have the room / apartment and 2 mac book's I can use with isight cameras (webcams but fancier) plus one digital HD camera that of course is hand held. The hand held will be available for both residents and those that work at the Chelsea to borrow right now for only 12 hours or less.

3. If my funding goal is reached I will purchase more cameras so that more people can borrow the cameras at the same time, and can hold onto them up to 24 hours.

4. Once those they borrow the camera, take off from my apartment / room, they are allowed to film whatever it is that they are comfortable with. They may have someone come over and interview them. They may set it up and interview themselves (diary like aspect) or simply give a tour and speak and candidly on why they chose to move in and how they heard about the Chelsea. Simply put they could speak of none of these things and only their lives / art / family. I don't care what they speak about as long as they love and stand behind what they are giving back to me to use. I want them to believe in their message / art.

5. There are those that have expressed interest in only being interviewed by me and in my room. That is fine by me as well. I'm unlike Hollywood and I'm not pushing for a story, these beautiful people rebel against rules and I want it to remain as such. After all, who am I to come into their territory and command they answer diluted questions they've already been asked a million times?

6. Concerning the style of filming that I will do about myself, it will be POV and a diary. I will detail my day to day life as I become a part of a management group, with an agent for the first time and do my very first press tour in the US all at the tender age of 32. My press tour is not about me pushing a film but it's about my work, my writings, my life as an advocate because after all what brings each person to the Chelsea Hotel is their art. My film is simply a bi product and an inside glance at what becoming a self professed legend is like. Will I survive it all?

7. The camera will be carried with me to my radio, television and club appearances. You'll see my fear, excitement and exhaustion through auditions, interviews and trying to do it all with no stylist or clue really as to expect when I walk into each "gig". The easiest way is to compare this to a person who was signed to a label and has to do their first tour.

8. I will reveal why I'm at the Chelsea, what brought me there in 1995 (although I couldn't afford to stay) and again in 2009 to which I threw away my life story between 7th and 8th avenue (a completed 350 page manuscript of my sad childhood and the way the abuse of my childhood shaped my life. After tossing this finished and professionally edited (and paid for) manuscript I went back to the Chelsea Hotel and began writing a book about love, life, sex and overcoming obstacles. Proving to everyone "Your story is never over." , I simply chose to focus on the pain my entire life rather than the happiness. This is going to be my first shot at doing what is about happiness and prevailing no matter what anyone says.

9. If I reach my total funding of 8 grand I will fly out my eldest son (whom I held in 1995 across and said to him "I will come back here one day and tell my story".) I can pay for him to take a break from his Summer visit with his father to fly in and film the opening scene and interview him about his what it was like growing up so poor we lived where we could at times and in a car till he was 3, traveling the Unite States alone and without much but the clothes on our backs.

10. I want the world to see a future generation who will one day hopefully be able to stay in the Chelsea and tell their story and live a dream a thousand others began or ended theirs.

11. I will set up a website that will be mailed to only those who have donated to the project (once funding is reached) so that they may log on weekly and get a live update from me and doing a Q n A with myself and any number of infamous, famous and awesome people who happen to stop in, as I do have a few confirmed and planned people.

12. I will credit all donation contributors in the film credits

Am I looking to hire anyone?

1. I need to begin the process of interviewing few well credited editors who have this qualities:

I) You must posses a pleasant attitude but not a push over and by no means a narcissist

II) I prefer this person to be a resident of NYC, in case we need to get filler footage

III) You must have a few films, documentary style, under your belt and an editors resume for me to review.

IIII) A reasonable flat rate.

V) i want a unique style, very avant garde, Indie house film style editor.

I'm not seeking film students, Interns or Actors.
