Update #6: Some overdue news... Noticias, en buena hora!
Dear Friends,
First, please accept our apologies for leaving you without news about our album recording progress for so long. We are finally emerging to let you know that we are well on the way, having recorded so far the songs featuring Sofia Tosello, Eleonora Bianchini, and more recently Claudia Acuña (below a couple of photos from the session), as well as several others with the regular band members. We are burning with impatience to let you hear them, but we must contain ourselves and wait until the entire album is ready, tracks clean, edited & mastered before we submitted them to your critical ears...
We thank you again for making it possible and will be in contact soon!

Primero queremos perdirles disculpas para haberles dejado sin noticias del progreso de nuestro álbum por tanto tiempo. Queremos avisarles que estamos en buen camino, ya teniendo las grabaciones con las invitadas Sofia Tosello, Eleonora Bianchini y últimamente Claudia Acuña (un par de fotos abajo), más varias con los miembros regulares del grupo. Estamos desesperados por dejarles eschucharlas, pero tenemos que detenernos y esperar que el álbum entero éste listo, con las canciones limpias, editadas y equilizadas, antes de presentarles a su oreja crítica...
De nuevo les agradecemos habernos dado la posibilidad de realizar el projecto y estaremos en contacto.

Update #5: We made it!!
Did we really think we could make it when we first started?... It sure seemed a long way to go. But you guys came through in a BIG way and we are very humbled by the love, the friendship and the trust we have received. We still hope to go a little higher in order to net $4000 after the 10% fees charged by Kickstarter & Amazon. We will have to spend VERY carefully to complete the project, but we will, and we will aim to create an album that makes you proud of your participation!

Los Chamanes is an ensemble serving a fusion rooted in Latin-American folklore and Nueva Cancion, with flavors of blues, jazz and rock that was born from the spirit of friendship within these Chilean expatriates in NYC, a nostalgia for their native culture and the magic of the Andes. In September 2008 they auto-produced their first album, Conjuros, available on CD and digital downloads.
Initially, the band interpreted songs from authors of Chile and Argentina but they have increasingly incorporated their own compositions, which now represent most of their repertoire and through which they hope to guide their listeners to reflect on issues such as social injustice and our behavior as a species.
