Update #2: Yes! (we made it)
$1001 as of yesterday! We made it with one week to spare. Thank you family, friends, and fans for showing your support during this very uplifting past month. For those of you who have not pledged yet, do not let the fact that we reached our goal deter you! Our studio time has significantly exceeded $1000, so every extra contribution means a lot. That being said, we are overwhelmingly happy with how this process has turned out. We simply cannot wait to get this record in your hands and in your ears and will keep you all updated on its progress in the next few months.

Light in August was founded in 2007 and consists of five musicians: each uniquely contributing to the group’s folk-tinged pop/rock sound. Alex's vocals are influenced by the likes of Chan Marshall and Cat Stevens and his guitar playing is informed by his classical guitar training. Anne Dearth and Rachel Woolf, both educated at the U of M School of Music, are on woodwinds and vocals. Jack Henry and Max Stewart are on bass and drums respectively.
In the past 2 years, Light in August has been played on radio stations such as 88.3 and 107.1 and has been covered in The Real Detroit, The Current, The Metro Times and The Detroit Free Press. The band released their debut album entitled 'Places' in August of 2009 and is working with Jim Roll on their sophomore release due in the fall of 2010.
