BFF Zombie: a dark comedy about the tough world of teenage girls. But some decisions are easier after your BFF gets run over.
Skylar has the difficult life of teenage girls, constantly faced with decisions like what to do on a Friday night, and who should be her BFF. But when one of her friends accidentally gets killed by her other friend's big sister, one problem seems to solve itself. As it turns out, death has its own complications. Seriously.
BFF Zombie is a 10 minute film we plan to shoot in early June. Originally set in Newfoundland, it has been relocated to Southern Florida.
Our crew has solidified and includes Argentinian director Maria Eugenia Quiroga, assistant director John Hamblin from Miami, local cinematographer Ben Struble, makeup artist Jesse Harris from Orlando, and stunt coordinator Edwin Millheim from Fort Myers. Katie Lozier is helping us with casting. Check out the video to see samples of some of our previous work.
Our minimum budget is $300, and that covers the travel expenses for our crew (except Maria) and a good part of our food requirements.
Our casting process has begun (please see update #2 above), and we would love to bring in some of the exceptional talent that have submitted for auditions. This would require additional funding beyond the initial $300. Please consider helping make this an even better film.
Here are some more details about how your contributions would be used:
Very important. Food is what sustains the actors and crew during the long production days. We have scheduled three days for the shoot, with a fourth day in reserve for pick-ups and re-shoots. Actually, most of the food costs will probably come out of my own pocket as we clean out our fridge at home to feed people.
A good part of the funding will be used to compensate crew and actors. We have people who can help us with all aspects of the production. We would like to cover their expenses. Their talent will make the difference between a good little film and a great little film. Essentially, this is gas money.
This includes makeup, props, costumes, and other items required on the set. Most of it will be what we can dig out of our closets, but we will need to supplement items and replace consumables.
