A new and innovative design in guitar picks. Play with less tension and utilize more sonority. A pick like no other in the world
The mission of Lifeblood Guitar Picks is to redefine the guitar pick as an advanced tool of musical expression. With this new instrument, guitar players can explore new landscapes of guitar sonority. Lifeblood picks utilize innovative shapes, sizes and alternative materials. Our goals are two fold: to make the instrument easier to play, and to assist guitar players worldwide in discovering exciting new sounds.Currently we make all the picks by hand. This is not efficient enough to get them to the general population.
Currently, each lifeblood guitar pick is hand carved. This process is very inefficient. Our goal for this project is quite simple; we would like to obtain the funds necessary to generate and purchase an injection-molding tool. Acquisition of this tool will go a long way towards our seeing the pick in the hands of guitarists around the world.
The duration of our project will be 60 days however our continued mission is lifelong.
Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
We face multiple challenges in completeing our project. Mass production of our picks is of prime concern. Once our project is funded, we intend to buy an injection mould to overcome this obstacle, We have spent considerable time researching the type of mould we will need. Having said that there will still be some design issues regarding pick thickness and materials to be used. The solution to these issues can only be fully addressed once we are ready to purchase the mould. However we have networked with guitar players across the nation to determine the viablity of our design and materials usage and have met with favorable feedback from most, and have gained valuable feedback from all players who have evaluated our picks.
There is always risk with a new endeavor such as this. For example we understand that we have created a tool (Guitar Pick) that is unique in design and appeals to only a certain segment of the population.( Guitar Players) The risk for us and the challenge as well is to convince and to educate the guitar playing poulation of the value of our pick design. We feel that our effort to connect and network with the guitar playing population has given us valuable insight with regard to the design viability. Through much trial and error the design of our pick has been defined and then refined again and again. So that we believe we have a design that will be a breakthough in how guitar playing is approached.
We are determined to meet challenges and risks head on. We hope to educate and be educated in how this pick design can "Change the way the Guitar is played".

The design of the Lifeblood Pick is curved in nature. This allows the player to place the forefinger in the concave part of the curve which requires less pressure from your thumb. In this way the pick does not float or move as much as a traditional flat pick.
" The pick design enables for sustains to endure more intensely while still (with great precision), maneuvering through the strings-, accenting specific strings without disrupting the sustains that are still ringing out. Although it does not alter the sound of a guitar-, it enables for tones to become clearer. An example would be... in a chord you hear a combination of single notes in unison, because of the accuracy the pick enables-, a player is able to bring out the single notes within the chord (amplifies the single note combinations within the chord itself.
The down stroke can be made to sound quite a bit different than the up stroke due to the difference in rebound. Down stroke has a firmer more compressed type sound, while up-stroke can be made to sound smoother (Due to a more pronounced flex).
Basically, due to these variances in stiffness many varieties of firm/smooth tones can be achieved."
