About this project
We're making a polished production, working with music producers who can capture the sound in my mind and render it to CD in a way that makes it accessible when you listen to it. I'm working with excellent musicians, The Humlie Trio, and Tammy Benelli, and a creative film-maker to translate the ideas of the lyric into visual images so that you can experience the song both by listening and by viewing.
Audio production is already under way, but will stall shortly because we're approaching the end of budget. So far we've recorded Joshua Humlie on drums. Remaining instrumentation will include bass, guitars, keyboard, and vocals, plus mixing and mastering for a total of approximately $1500.
Video production will begin when the audio portion of the project is complete. In the past I've launched into video prematurely and the quality of the audio suffered. We're taking our time to be nit-picky in the audio details, but that will simply give film-maker Jerry Monckton more time to come up with brilliant ideas for the video. We're planning to use the Red digital cinema camera, and hire a camera operator, possibly one or a couple actors, and an editor. That's where the video budget will go. We're looking at $2500 for the video side of the project. Below is the first video we made with Jerry, made on a zero budget.
I think we can complete the Audio section of Sit For A While within 30 days of funding, and the video section 60 days after audio. So from funding to finish looks like 90 days to me.
