Somewhere among the 80-something updates I got lost. All backers will be receiving 3-piece earbuds along with the specific ones we ordered?
What will be used for international shipping? UPS, FedEx, ... ?
Does the three piece harness have the iPhone control built in? If not this is really the last straw for me- I don't want to have to wear the clunky 6piece neck harness/ headrest/jewerly just to be able to make a phone call- Thomas can you please clarify wether the mic /control is integrated in the three piece? If not how do I get a refund?
I hate to be a downer but this product while hopefully engineered well looks terrible aesthetically , from the logo to the case Color to the bicolour cabling nothing works together visually at all. I certainly hope the earbud connection is rock solid- otherwise I can foresee ordering having to order replacement parts not because they broke but rather because they get lost. I was really excited at the outset about this product but my excitement is quickly being disappearing as production is continually pushed back and the product looks uglier and uglier with each iteration. Please understand that I'm not trying to trash the people involved but I just want to be honest with guys so that you will acknowledge in the next round of production that to make a truly great product and successful company long tern requires mor than just engineering and production, you need to also employee separate web deisgners, programmers, marketing, visual design and communication expertise. Not everyone is kick starter junkie, and ultimately these products will need to hold their own in the market place especially one that promises to be around more than 6 months from now to supply replacement parts- sorry for the bitter pill and harsh reality dose. I assure it's intended for your own good-
Jacky..thanks for the heads up!
Everyone, don't worry about address changes. You will be able to do this on our Google Docs form.
Thomas please check your inbox messages.
Need to do a shipping address change.. Will there be a new form sent out about changes?
Update?
Thomas, please check your inbox I've sent info for a shipping address change.
Robert,
Sorry. You are quite correct a delay in updates does not sit well.
We have lots of news for you over the next few days. Stay tuned.
Best, Thomas
Peter,
I certainly wonder too. I don't think we ran the most effective promotion either. We should have had actual pictures of the product (not illustrations) and a more professional video. I'll bet with just those two items we would have doubled our pledges or more.
Thomas
With all the growth in Kickstarter, I'm curious how many more people would have pledged to get these had this project started a year later.
Hint for the website update : Move the website over first, then change the DNS, and it will go more smoothly, no worries though.
Sincere condolences.
Update please. And no news is not good news
Oh,by the way, many of you noted our website was down for a while. This was a temporary thing as we switched hosting companies. Nothing was wrong other than the fact that I wish I had more web design and HTML experience so it went smoother.
Oh, my, I need to check out these comments more often!
OK, Thomas here, the head IRONguy and the fellow responsible for this entire project.
First, everyone posting here who is upset about the time it is taking to deliver IRONbuds is absolutely valid. This project has taken at least twice as long as we thought and we aren’t thrilled either.
But you aren’t going to hear any excuses from me, just a lot of thanks. Thanks for allowing us to use your funding and giving us the time to engineer the first generation of IRONbuds. Thanks for being so responsive to our questionnaires and thanks for the wonderful suggestions and support that many of you have provided us. It has kept us going through the frustrating times.
We are starting IRONbuds construction now and things are going well but if we get any samples that don’t meet our requirements, we want the issue(s) fixed before production continues. We are seasoned engineers and very fussy about this sort of thing. We want you to get great product.
We will update you as the production continues. (I know we should be more frequent with these.)
Lastly, even if you are among some of our pledgers that have lost patience, we are still thrilled you have helped us out. As we promised in our original Kickstarter campaign, we promise that you are getting more than just first production IRONbuds. You are a member of our IRON Elite, the driving force in this project and the ones that made it happen.
I can’t speak for others that Crowdfund, but I can tell you that as this company grows, you are going to be quite happy with the things we are going to do for you. As stated in the original campaign “We promise good things" in the future.
Thanks again, Thomas
I'm anxious to have my new buds, I haven't gotten any new ones since the funding on this project was complete, I've just been keeping my old cheap crap ones running since, it just kind of felt wrong to support this project, then go out and buy more junk.
I like the new website, lots of information, I assume even more to come. It's pretty easy to get to what information I wanted to see.
However, the web designer in me is cringing at the menu on the left, it needs a border or a drop shadow or something so it stops looking like the HTML just didn't render correctly because it's sticking out. Just my $.02
Getting pretty sick of these completely substanceless updates.
I am so very glad for this news, and I'm looking forward to your next update.
Updates please!
It's now almost 7 months since this project was funded, and we haven't received an updated delivery estimation since we were told Christmas was a no-go. I think you owe it to your backers to be a little more forthcoming about where you actually are on the timeline of delivering the product. Even if it's July or August or something that you might feel uncomfortable about saying, saying nothing is worse. Let us know when we can be confident that we will receive our product! You've gotten 61,000 dollars from backers, almost 6 times as much as you originally asked for - it's your responsibility to provide us with some clarity on when our investment will pay off.
Oh the irony of the last update about products not shipping.
Delivery date needed. Please respond.
about a year ago i went on a 25 trip around Asia, came home and said, "boy do i need a set of good audio earbuds for my next month long vacation around Asia.
Well now a year later i get ready for another month long trip and have I have no earphones
i feel sad and confused :(
please give an firm delivery date for this product.
Give us some updates!
acousticforge.com is up, new design?
acousticforge.com is down "account has been suspended"
Hellooooo ... it's been too long and we are all awaiting info and earbuds. What's going on? When will they ship?
You need to set a firm date and deliver.
Click on the blue link which says "Your response" under the level you backed.
Is there any way to see our results from the questionaire a while back? I have moved recently and I want to double check what address I have listed. Thanks!
I need to change the delivery address for my pledge reward. I sent a message to him via Kickstarter on the 13th, but I never heard back. Is there an email I should be using instead?
There was a flurry about packaging (um, wrap it in loo roll for all I care, so long as there's something to deliver in the wrapping) - and then nothing, despite promises of plentiful updates. Please let us know what's up, even if just to say "things are progressing: we haven't just run away with all your cash" ;-)
What happened to the 'a lot of updates the next few days' and what's happening? Did the anticipated start in production happen like you expected last week?
I know this is not an easy task to engineer headphones from scratch- let alone to run a company to go with it. But I think it's fair to the backers to provide a project timeline-- so we know the exact developments of Ironbuds.
You guys can obsess about quality every bit as long as you need to. Just so long as they come out right.
I particularly look forward to the update about your production facility.
Could you give us an update please?
I hope we're close to production - 6 months is a long time to wait.
May we have some more updates, please? Needn't be anything profound, but a few comments about what you're working on is always helpful, especially since this is now so over-schedule. Otherwise, suspicions begin to form, which I'm sure would be unfair.
Update please on the current status of production.
I saw these on Reddit and thought they may be a cool idea for Iron Buds 2.0.

Sign me up for the connectorless cables extra as well please!
Will there be grey/silver strain reliefs in the production model? The black strain reliefs look out of place with the silver cable. Otherwise, they look great.
Hope I'm wrong, but there's this something that worries me a bit: the "Y" connector from the main cable to the earplugs, couldn't that be a bit too heavy? Kevlar coated cables are already slightly heavier, plus this solid plastic part... I don't know if that would give this constant feeling of something pushing the earbuds down from your ears? Doesn't it bother anyone else?
Connectorless adapters sound like a good idea to me - three connections less to worry about ... I would already book that extra.
Can't wait to get my buds! I also just broke another pair of headphones (fairly expensive ones), and I hate throwing them away just because one connection is loose.
Hi,
My crappy Apple In Ear (quality ear buds by any other standard) just died. I'd love to get a really solid idea of when I can expect my IronBuds (smartphone) to be delivered. I know you have been addressing this on your updates (thanks) but you haven't revised your delivery date since we all found out that X-mas wasn't going to happen.
Thanks!
Eli
Option B for me. The best recycling is by far cardboard.
What about packaging that wraps up the cords so they won't tangle like this: http://www.ohgizmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/iangle.jpg
Selection "C" is my choice; if I need a case I will just buy some mints.
