In this vividly illustrated children's book, a bored pug teaches his busy owner a thing or two about what's really important.
Ollie is a real-life Pug whose impish charm and resilience are an inspiration to all who have come into contact with him. I'm hoping to share his story by publishing a series of vividly-illustrated children's books. The first is called "Not Now, Ollie."
Ollie's puppyhood was marked by serious illness - pneumonia nearly claimed his life. The prognosis wasn't good and I couldn't afford his expensive treatment. What I did have was time; I was home tending to my own health. And I was determined to keep him alive. As Ollie grew stronger, so did I.
The little man's transformation from sickly pug (just look at this picture) to high-energy pug-rocket was a thing to behold. Ollie had an amazing energy and lived completely in the moment, as most dogs do. As a human, I had a slightly harder time with that.
In sharing Ollie's story, I will create a curriculum guide for teachers as well. I hope to make this the first in a series of books about Ollie's adventures.
My fundraising goal of $5,000.00 is to cover the cost of printing 100 copies of the book, including graphic design and shipping costs.
