Kickstarter

I started a hummus company during February 2012, and since then, in two months, the business has grown beyond what I imagined. I have been approved to be at several farmer's markets, I have been selling at a local CoOp (with hopes of stocking up product at other stores), and I have been invited to cater to several events. All ingredients are organic and the containers are biodegradable.

My ultimate goal is to one day own a local cafe or restaurant serving healthy, organic, and wholesome Lebanese cuisine to better serve my community. I believe that eating right can change the way a person lives their life, and through that, all kinds of positive changes can happen. Food is such an essential part of our lives, and if we cannot eat right because of the price tag, then that is a shame. I do not only aim to serve those in my community who can afford to eat well, but also those who cannot afford overpriced meals. 

So, I am starting with selling authentic, organic, and healthy hummus, while working on some catering events. As this grows, I hope I can establish myself within my community as a restaurant owner and healthy-food advocate. 

The funds will go to purchasing an industrial sized blender, additional packaging material, farmer's market display items (banner, etc), and help in kitchen rent and aid. This will help increase my efficiency and cut costs. In turn, I will have more time to develop additional flavors, products, and work on expanding my catering opportunities. I am only asking for a small amount initially, and based on how things work out, I plan on expanding my opportunities.
