Laura Meyer began in New York City, where she regularly performed at clubs like Pianos, Joe's Pub, CBGB's, and The Bitter End while attending NYU's Gallatin School for Individualized Study. In the few years since graduating she's performed over 500 shows across the US and Europe. Her intelligent songwriting and road-honed performances have earned her bills with artists including David Byrne, Ryan Adams, Tift Merritt, Josh Ritter, Elvis Costello, and Ani DiFranco.
Having completed a whirlwind tour of nine countries in 2011, Laura settled in Los Angeles where she is working with a new band and editing a book inspired by life on the road. In October she returned to New York to record Golden Delicious, a new album inspired by the Wall Street protests and the state of the American Dream. Hello to all the friends of Laura. I realize this comment is coming very late in this thread. I crossed paths with Laura over a year after she started this Kickstarter request for funding. But I wish to tell whoever comes through that without the help of those who helped Laura fund her album I may not have ever crossed her path. I had the fortunate experience to see her at the Mint in Los Angeles on December 16, 2010 and I have followed her travels and read her tales from the road and her links to her videos on her Facebook page ever since. So thanks to all, both those who have supported her through Kickstarter and to all of you who support her out there on her adventure through the Universe. There is a moment at 1:29 in her YouTube video "Follow It Down" that says it all. Painted on a rock are the words, "Sometimes what you want most has been there all along..."

Laura, It was lovely to meet you in Telluride this summer. I don;t know if my $$ will help but you have all of my love and encouragement. I was moved in those mountains and know that I'm not alone. I hope your voice will grace Portland sometime soon....

I spent many, many hours lip-synching to Forever Your Girl and Emily's poetry got me through my college years. I've never heard of you. Wanted to share that, from a marketing perspective, the reason I pledged was when you pointed out that you could make this a reality if everyone gave only one dollar. That's half a cup of coffee, of course I can do that! Then I went over to your web site and wished I could pledge $2500 to spend a day with you in NYC! You don't need luck, you've got beautiful voice and energy!
