Greetings!

We’re Launch Pad Cooperative, an artist-run gallery that was established in 2012 with the intent to facilitate a network for emerging visual artists and creative writers who wish to enrich the community of Toledo, Ohio and beyond.

Our mission is to provide support and encouragement for artists and writers, cultivate ideas and creativity, foster cross-discipline collaborations, and actively pursue broader exposure of member’s work. We also seek to encourage experimentation and innovation through the presentation of fresh, provocative new works by cooperative members.

In May we moved into a 1000 square foot storefront space and began renovations which included removing old, nasty carpet, refinishing the floors, building ten foot high walls, and installing track lighting and fixtures. With a lot of blood, sweat and tears we transformed this raw space into a legitimate art gallery within a month. We must give a huge “Thank You” to all our friends and family who helped us with the renovations. We couldn’t have done it without you!

We worked so hard to realize this vision of contributing a professional contemporary art space to an already growing art scene here in Toledo. The response from the community has been extremely positive and we want to engage the community further. The next phase of the gallery is to provide the community with various programs and events which include lectures, panel discussions and artist talks, workshops, performances, film and video series and poetry readings.

In order for us to be able to engage the community with additional programing and events we are asking for help in reaching our goal of $6k.

What Your Contributions Will Cover:

Programming costs. We plan to host artist talks, workshops, film screenings, panel discussions, lectures, poetry series and other events. We offer all our programming for free to the public, and in order to make that happen we need your support.

Programming Equipment and Supplies. We would like to invest in a video projector for the film and video screening as well as a sound system for our poetry readings, lectures and performances. Additional supplies we will purchase with the funds include folding chairs for the film and reading series, as well as tables for the workshops and panel discussions. We are completely independently funded and we rely on small donations for things like this from generous people like you.

Operation costs. In order to offer the community these exciting events and programs we need to be able to afford the additional operating costs associated with being open more often.
