Juicies - injection molds

Update #23 · Feb 13, 2012 · 12 comments

Hey there

I just received an email from the manufacture of the injection molds. The tools are being polished and they told me that they have mailed me the final samples for approval. I also got some pictures from them of the unpolished ruff sample that they had produced initially in order to test the molds. You can see a few of those pics below.

I will post another update once I am holding the final sample in my hands. We are almost there guys...

Apple IS probably moving to a smaller form-factor for the next iPhone... so these won't be any good for me by the time I get mine...

Laurens, if possible could you start giving weekly updates on the progress made? Some of us backers would like to keep believing in the project but at the current pace of information coming from you it is getting harder and harder to silence the nagging voice in our heads that is saying you ran off with our money ...

anyone notice that he's backed 42 projects? 22 of which were AFTER he got his funding for this project? i mean i totally understand helping the small guys, but when you put a plan in motion, you gotta deliver. in the normal world, when someone invests in your company, you don't produce, you are normally liable to some extent right? we aren't able to get our funding back which we had invested in good faith. i honestly think you need to come clean with what's going on, and GIVE US A DATE that we will receive our product.

      I just checked UPS.com
A 22 lbs package (should be more than enough for samples!), worth of 200$(again, more than enough!), from Shenzhen (I just took something "famous" in China) to Honolulu would cost something around 360$ with UPS Express Saver and would be delivered in two days.
I don't think, you've had every one of those 500 samples (why such a high amount?!) sent by itself.
And why did you give away 100+ cables, but didn't even think about the costs?! oh sure, its our money, not yours.
would be nice to get some more answers from you..

      shipping cost $2950.-
did you get those silly molds delivered by one person swimming to you? How the heck do you get almost 3000$ into shipping, if you didn't even recieved the cables for us?! And how much will further deliveries to you cost?

So, 2 weeks ago you said you were waiting for samples to mail. Now you're saying the MOLDS haven't even been finished being made yet?! How much time did we loose for you to have your logo added to the molds? Thanks for nothing.
