The Story of LASTmatch

IT ALL BEGAN ONE BLUSTERY FEBRUARY NIGHT...
Three women sat on the floor of a Chicago highrise apartment and gazed out into the glittering city lights. The enormous undertaking of actually starting a theatre company was secondary to the simple and irresistible declaration that the three of us would produce a play!

In a cornered nook of an earthy Logan Square cafe, Stephen Louis Grush sat down to tea with the Ladies of LASTmatch. By the end of the afternoon we'd discussed life, death, karma, music, and were all excited to collaborate!

FEET OF CLAY GETS ITS LEGS!
With script in hand and pre-production already in full swing, we hire a director and set audition dates while simultaneously planning a November launch party for FEET OF CLAY. (You're invited!)

LASTmatch launches their project on Kickstarter.com to fund the remainder of production costs for the company's inaugural production: FEET OF CLAY. MORE ABOUT FEET OF CLAY
Inspired by Chekhov’s classic Three Sisters, this present-day story is set near Fort Polk army base in Leesville, a rural town just outside New Orleans. The play explores the relationships of three adult siblings adapting to life without their parents, as well as the lasting effects of war on both the soldiers who fought and the loved ones to whom they return. It is a story of people who dream about escaping their present reality and creating a new and fulfilling life... if only they knew how.
