Update #4: The Poster

Posted on November 1, 2011

Everyone --

Here's the latest on Brothers.

I'm very excited to finally share with you the film's poster, made by the incredible J. Zachary Keenan. It will be printed and shipped later this month, with a limited number available at our December screening.

And so, after a very long weekend, Color, Music and Sound have been set for tonight's screening thanks to the laborious and amazing efforts of Andrew J. Whittaker, Andrew Chugg, Ryan Sciaino and Gregg Swiatlowski. I've only just assembled everything, so tonight will be the first time anyone will watch the film in its finished format.

Tonight marks a day I've been looking forward for over a year. It will be the launch of the second film I've completed. But more importantly, it will mark the second film funded, in part, by your support. As of today, we've raised almost $3,000 from 82 different backers. This film would not have been completed otherwise. That's why I believe, now more than ever, the future of filmmaking lies in grassroots support. So thank you all for your willingness to take a chance on an idea, I can't wait to share the result.

With 4 days left, my remaining hope is to continue to spread the word, so that when Brothers does launch, it will have as strong an audience as possible.

Still more to come on the release of the Digital Download, DVD and so on.

Update #3: Sponsor Lock

Posted on October 7, 2011

Hey Everyone --

Another update on our progress with Brothers.

I'm really excited to share news that Brooklyn Brewery has agreed sponsor both of our upcoming screenings. That means some of Brooklyn's finest ales will flow freely (while supplies last) when you come out to see the film for the first time. It also means that we're keeping it local.  We'll toast the brewery for their generous support to local independent cinema.

Winnie Cheung (Editor) and I are on the last stage of refining the edit to achieve Picture Lock. That leaves us 3 solid weeks for Gregg Swiatlowski (Sound Designer/Mixer), Andy Chugg (Composer), and Andrew J. Whittaker (DP, Colorist) to work their magic and help finish the film. Three weeks is a long time and, not surprisingly, three weeks is a short time.

28 days remain. We're still $631 away from our goal. I honestly don't know how we'll reach it, but I feel strongly to say that I know we will. I hope you continue to spread the word about our screenings. More to come on posters and postcards soon.

I can't wait to share Brothers with you all.

Update #1: Brothers - Trailer

Posted on September 14, 2011

Hey Everyone --

Just a quick update on Brothers.

We're deep into the post-production process, working hard to meet fall deadlines to submit for film festivals (i.e. Sundance, SXSW, IFFBoston, etc). Winnie Cheung is editing the film, Andy Chugg (of Crinkles) is composing the music and Gregg Swiatlowski will be returning for the sound editing and mixing (remember how good ICE HOCKEY sounded?). The film will be completed in early October with a private screening for cast, crew and backers held later this fall.

In just over a week, 21 backers – composed up of have friends, colleagues and strangers alike – have lent their support and pledged $677 to reaching our goal – THANK YOU.  But there's still 52 days to go and we still have a long way to go.

So today, we're launching a trailer on kickstarter to help spread the word and enjoy.  Please continue to share this project and help fund this film.

More to come soon,

Larry
