Why we need your support
Large Animal Games is a independent game development studio in New York City. Contrary to our name, we are a small company, and we typically work with publishing partners to fund our games - but ultimately, we want to be able to fund and publish our own. Nomsters is an attempt to do just that. It's a action-arcade game for iOS and Android devices.
We've managed to get Nomsters to a solid alpha (that's like a rough draft for those of you who don't work in the software industry) on our own dime and early testers have been giving us positive feedback, but we need your help to add the spit and polish that will make the game really stand out. Your money will go towards:
- More levels
- Retina-display support
- Better music and sound effects
- Lots more character animations
- Android porting costs (we'll target the most popular devices first, such as Kindle Fire)

Help the Nomsters save their world!
The survival of the Nomsters home planet is at stake! The evil Fruit Fly army from a neighboring galaxy has begun stealing the Nomsters' very lifeblood - their precious supply of fresh fruit.
A rag-tag team of Nomsters has banded together to challenge the Flies, but they are out-numbered and, frankly, out-witted. These heroic underdogs need your help to collect all of the fruit before it’s stolen by the Fruit Flies.
Nomsters features hours of both single player and turn-based multiplayer gameplay for iOS and Android. It’s a fast-paced arcade puzzler and an astroNOMical amount of fun.
Gameplay
We played with a similar pinball-meets-pool concept in Bumper Stars, one of our Facebook games, but Nomsters pushes everything much further. You'll see all-new mechanics like moving obstacles and challenging new bumper types - even Fruit Flies who sneak into the level mid-way to steal fruit! After launch, we plan to continue expanding the Nomsters world with new powerups, more Nomsters, and additional level packs featuring different types of never-before-seen interactive game objects.
Multiplayer
We're super-excited about our Nomsters Challenge system. Take on any of your Facebook friends in a single-level showdown: earn the most points and you'll get Avocados to spend on power-ups. Dare your friends to beat your unbelievable scores, then bask in the glow of victory when they inevitably fall short.

Avocados are the Nomsters in-game currency and you use them to purchase powerups like Extra Speed, Bouncier Bumpers and Magnetic Fruit. Eventually there may be other uses for Avocados like unlocking new Nomsters, new levels, etc.
They are also a pear-shaped fruit with a rough leathery skin, smooth oily edible flesh, and a large stone. Early European sailors used them as a replacement for butter.

Great question. We started building Nomsters in January and originally planned to treat it as a learning experience. We planned on putting a couple weeks into the project to see what it's like to build a game in Unity and go through the Apple submission process but as we were working on the project two things happened:
• Other iOS developers that we know and respect suggested it's better to go all-in rather than do a test.
• We realized the game is a ton of fun and has the potential to be much more than a test project. With an investment push this game can really succeed! It's a strong property - the mechanics are simple and fun plus its a strong cast of cute characters. We've really developed a connection to them and think others will as well :)So we made the decision to make this game as strong as possible and that brought us to Kickstarter. With your investment we will do the following:
• Add new worlds and levels with unique features that offer deeper challenges as the player progresses. Ex. Moving walls, speed boosts, different kinds of Fruit Flies.
• Develop the personality of the game through more animation and FX.
• Develop the player-to-player challenge system.
• Hiring someone to finalize the audio.
• Market the game. We know this isn't the sexiest bullet point but it's essential for success. -

We're so glad you asked! While our initial focus is mobile, iOS and Android, we'd love to extend the game into other platforms. Our challenge system runs through Facebook so that seems like an obvious first choice but we've been discussing other social platforms. Funding and the game's success on mobile will be a big determining factor as we consider our next steps following the game's launch.
